Wow I just read through my blog and remembered how awful my journey with my skin has been!
I am sooo pleased to say that my skin has gotten SO much better since I started the regimen though and I'm in a really good place right now!
My skin isn't 100% perfect but I only have real problems with it when I eat a lot of bad food (chocolate - sad times huh?) and when I'm on that "time of the month" ! And even then now it's maybe one painful spot or a couple of pimples and thats it!
I still have hyperpigmentation but honestly I have dealt with red marks for pretty much years now and I'm genuinely accustomed to it but looking back at some pictures I can see a big difference. I walk around the house with no makeup on, see my boyfriend quite happily with no makeup on - something that I just did NOT do - and I'm pretty much a more confident girl.
There are still times when I get the odd spot that I think, "Oh no!" but I also know that I'm still only eighteen (I know acne can last for way longer than your teen years but just for my point here
) and I'm bound to still get the occasional spot because - it's NORMAL.
I'm sorry if this is hugely long but I really do feel like I would say to anyone, give it a REAL go and see what happens. I've been on now since late June so it's been a good five months now.
Oh just a quick one - personally I still get quite dry from the regimen but honestly? I would take dry flakes over acne anyday.
I hope you are all taking care of yourselves & your skin is treating you kind. Sorry I didn't update for ages if anyone was curious about what was going on. xoxo
OH and a really quick one. One thing I noticed from reading my blog was the fact that I spoke constantly about changing my diet to gluten/dairy/anythingunderthesun free and in the end that just wasn't possible - and it turns out that I didn't need to worry about doing it anyway. I know it's so hard to take on board when you are dealing with acne but please don't let your skin affect every aspect of your life because, most of the time, it isn't worth it and it doesn't make a difference anyway. I do think chocolate can break me out but am I never going to touch it again? Of course not! The same with going out on a night out with my pals. And if that is the thing keeping me from being 100% free then so be it. You only live once after all.
xoxo

Happy to hear that you're doing well, Jess! Good for you! Glad that you stuck with it all because I remember that you had your struggles when you were first trying to get it under control so it's nice to hear that it's paying off.

Thought I'd do a quick update just in case anyone who was on the regimen was interested a as I'm coming up to a year of doing this! (which is kind of crazy) I've been on now for around 9 months and I'm happy to say things are still pretty good since my last post.
I've decreased the amount of bp I use (it's now probably about half the full amount recommended on here) simply because i don't feel my skin was ever going to get used to it. Therefore I'm not crystal clear but it's manageable and that's more than I could ask for, especially with the fact that it has caused my flaking to be MUCH better. I have also changed my cleanser to one which has 'glycerin' in which has been a life saver for helping with dryness. I got asked the other day what I'd do when I wanted to 'come off' the regimen, but currently I don't really think about it much and it'll be one of those things I tackle when I feel I need too.
So all in all, it's going pretty well.
Maybe I'd be completely clear if I had stuck with the full amount, but I'm OK with being like this for now! As I said before, I can now link what causes break outs (bad food choices, drinking and no sleep!) but in a way I find this helpful, because at least now I have something to account for acne, rather than the frustrating 'Why am I breaking out so much?!' I used to have to deal with. On the note of these though, bp has helped a lot in keeping any break outs minimal and mean that I can enjoy myself. (: (like today where I may have indulged in a huge tub of chocolate...
)
Hope everyone else's bp journey is going well, any questions feel free to throw them at me.
take care! x

Hey Jess!
Glad to hear things are going well for you. Can totally relate about feeling better by knowing what's causing your acne. or at least having a rough idea of what the triggers are. It gives us some of the control back and means we can have more influence over the overall condition of our skin. I've certainly found that out through making changes to my diet and removing some triggers that way. Even if it doesn't result in being completely acne free all the time, it's so much better than being at the mercy of it.
Keep it up!
