Hey all, not sure if this is the right place for it, but its oily skin related so thought i'd post it here.

I've been suffering with oily skin/acne for the last 5 years or so, using BP everyday my acne is controllable and not too bad. However, my skin produces about as much daily oil as Saudi Arabia. My whole face is oily within 2 hours of washing and it sucks to keep having to drop what i'm doing and wipe my face the whole time. So i'm going to megadose on vitamin b5 to try and cure the oily skin.

Day 1 - Taking 5 grams of B5 split into 2 doses a day.

Day 2 - No changes, bowels are a bit looser than normal though.

Day 4 - Upped it to 6 grams because i'm impatient and haven't really experienced any side effects. Also decided to take B complex as i don't want to become deficient, taking 20mg of zinc as well.

Day 5 - Still as oily as ever, possibly a slight reduction in oil on my cheeks. My cheeks are also starting to itch, alot. I'm taking that as a positive though.

Hey I did the vit B5 started off on 2g per day capsules after 2 weeks I moved it up to 10g per day in powder form after a month ( 6 weeks total) I saw no difference so I upped it again so it was between 10-15g per day no major difference I continued this for roughly 3 months.

But in all fairness I put 10g of powder into a drink and just drank it in quaters every few hours ( no gaurentee that i was drinking 2.5g)

I was told recently that myprotein ( my supplier of b5) was innacurate on the measurements of how much protein they use in their products ( this could also be for their vitamins) however I am unsure how reliable this source is.

works for some, doesnt work for others

I also started megadosing on B5 nearly two weeks ago, right before this thread was posted. I'm up to 8 grams a day now but still no reduced oiliness.
