I have noticed on a few occasions when I have been browsing the forums, that they suddenly become unavailable. I realised this morning that it is always at the same time...10am BST (British Summer Time). This morning it lasted until about 10.07am.

Internet Explorer diagnostics reported "Windows confirmed that "www.acne.org" is currently online, but is not responding to connection attempts at this time".

I was wondering if there was a reason for this. The fact that it always occurs at 10.00am suggests that it is planned. Perhaps for database backup etc.?

It happens to me sometimes too. You just give it a few seconds and then refresh, and it fixes itself. : )

I do try refreshing, but it has no effect. As I say, it is strange that it is always at the same time. I will see what happens tomorrow at 10am (= 4am Chicago time).

The fact that it happens in the early hours of the morning in the USA made me wonder if it is due to some kind of server maintainance?

That happens to me too. And it's always at the same time: 11 AM. The site appears to be "dead" for about 10 minutes. You can press "Refresh" until your finger hurts, it doesn't work. Looks like a backup is running or something.

Weird. I've never had that problem for more than a than a minute or two at most, and I'm always on at odd hours. If it's always happening at the same time, though, yeah, I'd say probably a server something or other or something like that.

I don't see it as too much of a problem, as we all know it is only lasting for a couple of minutes. Although it does seem to strike at alot of people who live in European areas. Oh how I wish I could visit Czech Republic again smile.gif

It might only appear to affect Europe because of the time that it happens. 10am BST is 4am Chicago time, so I doubt most American members would notice it.

I was just replying to a thread this morning during the 10.00am to 10.07am downtime. After a minute or 2, I actually received a message saying "Acne.org is temporarily unavailable. Please check back momentarily.". I have never seen that message before.

Haha, actually, it's not all that uncommon for me to be on at 4am. I have a weird sleep schedule. ; )

It happens to me all the time if I am browsing around 3AM MST. If I remember correctly, no matter where you are, that is when they update the servers, I think.
