^ Sounds like you are obsessing. I was like that as well, scrapping at any other water-only experience and hoping for answers to ease my emotional irritation. Never helped.

I know, its really bad I am obsessing, need to control now. You wont believe, I search for each and every post of water only, read each and every experience, and ask them questions. And if one of them is unsuccesful, I feel, oh god, what if it doesnt work for me. But I know, I shouldnt be doing this.. eusa_naughty.gif
What works for one, doesnt work for other, so I really need to focus on myself rather than others..hehehe

Realgood, is your skin worse than you started the water only??? How is the redness, flaking, peeling, dead skin? Also, the amount of pimples that you get is more or less compared to before? Also, whats your routine, i mean how many times a day do you wash your face with water?Hot or cold?

The number of spots I get hasn't improved significantly, it has improved slightly, but the tone and quality of my skin has improved dramatically, as it's no longer irritated, this in turn has allowed my red marks to face faster. I tend to wash my face with warm to hot water, about twice a day. I have 50-75 mg of zinc a day. I believe it could completely cure other people, depending on how severe your acne is, but my acne these few months has been worse than ever, and i feel that the topicals managed to aggravate it.

Also,I want to add, i'm on my 3rd day of 5 day anti-biotic course for my teeth, maybe it'll affect my progress? IDK, doubt it. When it comes to acne and regimens, it's ridiculously hard not to obsess lol.

I must add, a few days ago, idecided to try washing my face with soap, i had oilyskin & breakout of 3 spots the next morning. It was a baaad idea.

Don't say that! I believe this is a brilliant regimen, don't get me wrong, but my acne is severe, it's just gettin worse, i actually find it hard to leave the house, and i can't waste my summer, even my GP described it as severe, i get cysts, so i will stick with the regimen, but i need more help. i've been on the regimen almost 7/8 weeks.

Don't get me wrong, I completely recommend the regimen, it's improved my skin quality, in it's texture, but i believe my acne is to severe no not go without treatment.I don't want any topical treatments though.

Try birthcontrol if you dont want any topical treatments Realgood!
BCPs are less harmful that antibiotics..I am planning to do so as well in case the water only regimen doesnt work for me in next two months, so lets see, i am hoping it would work!
What I felt from my personal experience of Water only method is, it definately helps everyone! Just the extents at which people are benefitted differes for all, I mean for some people hormones are messed up, so acne will surely come, but if you are on water only, they come to head in like a day or two, but if you are on topicals, sometimes it takes weeks to come to head.
For example, right now I am not sure whats causing my acne, but I am pretty sure whatever is causing it, topicals are aggrevating it more. Because, in this year, I used to get cysts, but they would be cysts only till they heal. However, now my type of acne is just 1, pustules. Because even if i get a cystic pimple, next day it gets a head and becomes pustule. So now I feel, all these works pustule, pastule, cystic acne and all these are just man-made. Initially, people use to just get 1 type of pimple, and by messing with it more, we used to irritate our skin, so eventually we would start getting cystic acne. Anyways thats just my thought, I know people are going to come back to this post, and argue a lot on this post saying that there are lots of kinds of acne, but after my personal experience with water-only I believe that the type of acne is just 1.

I still have about 8-10 pimples on my face, mostly pustules, but still I am having high hopes on water-only. Worst case I will go on BCP, but no topicals for sure.

Hm, I understand. I think you should just make sure to really discuss it first, see what the derm thinks (as he may think it's actually not that bad - we always see our own skin in the worst way). Perhaps something like birth control would help.

I've tried dianette, really didn't work for me, i really expected it to work as it seems to work for everyone else.

@Ashley- thanks for your advice over the last month, it's been lovely

@Kris2011, I see what you mean about 1 type of acne, it has helped my, as in my skin overall, but not acne, if that makes any sense

There are a few days till by derm appointment now, just on Thursday!

Not all BCPs are the same. There are tons of them , and its just about figuring out which one is best for you. But frankly, I have never taken BCPs. they are not so common for acne back in my home country, and I am in US only for 3 years or little more..
But yes, you could try a different BCP if u like. Or try spirolactone, lot of people here are taking it, its basically a BP medicine, but it helps acne from what I read. I would say, talk to your derm in detail and take an antibiotic only after researching thorough about it.
Again, what may work for one, may not work for other. So its just about trial and error.
I wish you would have still continued the water only, its the best natural way! Although, i do understand what u mean by you cant wait as ur acne type is severe. Right now, my acne type is also moderate to severe, but I dont want to give up water only after being on it for 3 weeks complete. I want to give it 2 months. These 3 weeks were the hardest for me which I will never forget in my life!

My acne was moderate to severe. Took me about 6 months of not using any cleansing method but Caveman or washcloths for my acne to lessen to mild (and Kris, last I read you had about 8 pimples. That is not severe, that's mild), but my skin itself was not happy at all. Then it took almost 2 months of water-only and caveman for my acne to mostly clear up. So it's really quite a long process.

Ashley, you are right, 8 to 10 pimples. Those are the ones I could see even from very far far distance.. Very very inflammed. And many small small all over the face, so I dont consider as mild. It was moderate. And if u see my face, you will feel pity for me. So many red marks all over. And so many under the skin bumps, which i dont count as current pimples. What I count as 8-10 is what i see right now inflammed.

And yes, its a long long process. I think even for me, its been close to 2 months that I left cleanser. But than I did some stupid stuff for 1 month, and then for about 3 weeks now just water only regimen. I feel, for me it will take approximately 3 months on water only, to change my acne type to mild ( like 2-3 active pimples and some red marks)..Its all about the patience. And the thing I realised in water only method is, once you cross the 3 week mark, or may be a month mark, then you dont feel like giving up, beacuse somewhere in your heart, you know its helping your skin a lot.
