I'm a 19 year old female and acne has been by far the most difficult struggle I've dealt with throughout my entire adolescence. I've had it since grade school and I've grown up around people with beautiful, smooth skin, including my own sister. I'm jealous when she can leave the house without a stitch of makeup on her face and she still looks flawless. Sometimes if I'm having a particularly bad week with my skin, I'll stay in the house and not see anyone for however long it takes for my skin to finally clear up and heal. It kills my confidence. All I'd like to do is see myself and be satisfied with the way I look. That will never happen because no cure is in sight, and I have some bad scarring that makes me look years older than I actually am.
Picking is the foremost reason why I still have acne and why I have so many scars. I've tried to stop but the farthest I've gotten is a couple of weeks. Within those couple of weeks my skin looked great: no pimples, no red marks, only white heads. I'd eventually get a pimple or I'd pick at a white head and things would go downhill from there. I'd go on a picking spree and my face would look horrible, all my progress down the drain and I'd have to wait over a week to heal.
I'd like some motivation. I know having clear skin should be enough motivation, but when I see the whiteheads I can't help it. So, if anyone knows if there's a way to be rid of whiteheads in a non-destructive way I would really appreciate it. Some confidence boosters would be great as well because I'm actually having a bad skin day today and probably for the upcoming week. Some kind words of understanding would really help.
I've ruined my face

Sorry I don't have any advice, but I suffer from the same kind of feelings to! My younger sister has flawless skin. I don't know if it helps you, but it helps me to think that even though there are perfect-skinned people all around us, there are also hundreds of thousands of people with the same problem as us! Feel better
