Surely it is not just me that thinks this, and I'd be curious to know why these devices are so overpriced. Everyone knows that electronic devices are always coming down in price, but these devices are still remaining expensive, at least the ones I've seen. LED's are NOT expensive, and probably any geek with the technical know-how could make one of these devices in his basement that is still safe and effective with parts off the internet for a fraction of the price, they are just LED's operating at specific wavelengths, and a battery to power them, No? I'm wondering why the price isn't coming down? Perhaps I am missing a large piece of the puzzle?
Why are red/blue light devices so expensive?

It's a stupid marketing thing. They know people will still buy them even though they're overpriced. Look at the Clarisonic Mia. I know it doesn't take nearly $150 to make it. So stupid.

So I'm wondering why there isn't some guy making these out of his garage and selling them on ebay, making a nice profit without overpricing. And for the prices you see these things at, you'd think you would see advertisements for them everywhere.
Edit: Wow, there is,
