I haven't read through everything so I don't know if this has already been suggested but I found that acrylic nails improved my picking problem a lot. The urge is definitely still there but the fake ailshp remind me of what I'm doing because they don't feel same as my regular nails on my face and also on my fingers. Also, I have the manicurist file them so they are not nearly as sharp asmy nails and don't seem to cause as much damage if I do break down and pick. It also
Seems like less bacteria gets under them so my scabs get less infected. I know
that this is just a bandaid on the deeper psychological issue but it has helped
my confidence a lot in the meantime

Actually I agree with you, I hate the way the fake nails feel on my face, so that tends to discourage me from picking. However, I also don't like long nails in general - I always keep mine short, so maybe it's just the weirdness of the experience in general that causes me to not pick.. Haha.

That's exactly what I find, too. I don't pick my face, but I pick my cuticles and the skin around my nails. When I have acrylics on, I don't pick at all. The urge is still there, yes, but I can't pick because the nails aren't sharp enough, so it reminds me not to try picking.

I have a huge obsession w picking as well ...but for sure when I have fake nails on I don't cause as much damage. The nails are thick and don't really break or scratch the skin...but thhey do do a wonderful job helping to efficiciently and effectively burst cystic type acne with out much aftermath...and it feels so good to jus be able to squeeze a blemish and feel the pop and get the nasty goo and the stubborn little hard white seed out!..without breaking any skin or bleeding or creating a huge monster on ur face!!
