This is my log for a Urine Acne Therapy experiment. I came across UT about a week ago and have decided to try it and see what happens.

A little background:
I have been fighting moderate to severe acne for eleven years. During my teen years, my parents tried everything. I saw dermatologists for years, tried every topical and internal prescription known to man, and eventually went on Accutane at age 15. I was on Accutane for six months and, yes, it cleared my skin up. For awhile...

I had occasional breakouts all through high school. At age 19 I joined the military and my acne flared again. In the four years since then, I've used many different brand name acne regimens as well as quite a few all-natural ones. In the past year I've been seeing a dermatologist again. He put me on minocycline, benzoyl peroxide wash, and retin-a (old friend). I was on all of that for over six months before I gave up. It did nothing for me other than dry my skin out and help me build resistance to yet another antibiotic. I'm sure that Accutane would work again, but I don't want to go through that process again, nor do I have the money.

So, eleven years later, I am willing to try anything. I came across Urine Therapy on this website and then proceeded to Google like a mad woman. I have even asked the MD that I work for. He has assured me that, while he is skeptical about whether it will work, nothing negative can come from it. So, in my opinion, it's worth a shot.

My lifestyle and regimen:
I have been a vegetarian for just over a year. I don't drink milk, but I do eat cheese, and eggs on occasion. I run (2-3 miles) 3 to 5 times per week and do strength training 3 times per week. I do not drink soda, only tea (oolong and black) and water. I eat a lot of fruits and veggies, tofu, lentils, and whole grains.

I have been doing UT for seven days topically. I have switched to Burt's Bees all natural cleanser and have stopped using lotion or any other topical products alltogether. I do use Bare Minerals foundation to cover my acne at work. Upon suggestion from a friend who is also doing UT, I have started using urine to replace moisturizer under my makeup. My day as of now goes like this:

Morning:
Wake up
Pee in sterile cup
Using a cotton ball, apply thin layer to face
Seal cup and take it with me
Run/Strength Training
Wash face w/ Burt's Bees Cleanser
Apply layer to face
Apply Bare Minerals foundation

Evening:
Wash face w/ Burt's Bees Cleanser
Apply thin layer from sterile cup
Wash off after 20-30 minutes
Apply another later prior to bed and do not rinse

Like I said, I'm at a place where I'm willing to try anything and this seems to have worked well for others. Since starting a week ago, I have noticed that my skin is significantly less dry and more smooth. Several pimples have surfaced and are clearing quickly. I have been told that this is the "purging" stage that lasts for a couple of weeks for some people. I've noticed that no one has pictures to support their claims, so I will be posting picture updates. For obvious reasons, I do not have pictures from before last week. I have attached pics (with awesome racoon mask) from day seven using UT.

I will update at least weekly whistling.gif)

I am also in the beginning of urine therapy - Day 5 now. And my skin has drastically improved for such a short period of time! I'm also experiencing purging breakouts, but they are small and heal extremely fast. And a lot of the ones I had have disappeared. So I'm really hopeful!

Oh, and you've probably heard this, but drinking it really does amp up the effect, not to mention that it's a miracle drink for your overall health. A lot of people have testified that applying it topically can only get you so far, whereas if you ingest it too you'll get completely clear.

I pee in two cups first thing in the morning. One of them I drink (about 2 deciliters) and the other one I keep in the fridge and apply 4-5 times during the day.

Well, good luck, pee-buddy! smile.gif

I'm getting desperate...but not that desperate lol.

There is NO way I'm going to drink my own urine.
The body has that function to get WASTE out of the body....

I saw videos on youtube yesterday of people claiming that they drink their own urine and they feel energized and "healthy" ...but come on....that's a load of garbage.

People trick themselves, expecting it's going to do something...it's called a placebo effect doubt.gif

It can't be a placebo effect if it works... Also, there have been studies that prove that drinking your own urine helps your overall health.

That being said...

End of Week Two: Results

I'm not sure if I've seen any improvement. I had to switch to Cetaphil cleanser because the Burt's Bees was making my skin way too oily. I've also added a drop of lavender oil to the cup every day to get rid of the smell. Other than that, everything is the same as far as regimen goes. I will give this until the end of week four to see what any results might be.

I haven't tried drinking it yet. I think it will make me puke... But I might try that starting tomorrow... Any suggestions on how to do it without puking would be appreciated. I've attached pictures (with lime green raccoon eyes today!) for comparison.

I also might be around my time of the month. I'm not sure because I don't have normal cycles.

You mention you don't have normal cycles -- have you ever been on BCP? Or talked to a gyno about your acne? I find that for women (and men, but especially women) hormones play a hugeeeeee role in our breakouts. I didn't even know that my hormones were so out of whack til my gyno suggested I take a hormone level blood test. I'm now aiming to try and balance them naturally w/ herbal supplements + diet.

Anyway, good luck with what you're doing + keep us posted, I was just throwin' that hormone question out there because you didn't mention it in your initial post.

Yes, I see a gyno regularly. I have tried every birth control known to man since I was 15 and am now using the Mirena IUD. However, I have had acne since I was 11.

I'm talking about the placebo effect of feeling "energized" from drinking ones own urine....The mind can be quite powerful at tricking a person into believing they feel something when they're not. Look at experiments done with people given a non-alcoholic beverage, but they act totally shit faced if they think it has booze in it.

Yes, that is definitely true. I am only doing this as an experiment, though I would be thrilled if it worked! I don't claim to know much about drinking urine other than Gandhi did it.

I realize I just started this log, but it's been a little over two weeks and I haven't seen any results. I'm still breaking out, and I don't think they're just "purging pimples." I think I'm going to start a new log and try ACV for awhile.

Hey, me 2 tried the urine therapy treatment before 2 weeks. For the first week, the results were amazing. Not 1 inflammed zit, completely clear with just marks. However, on the second week, I got three new pimples on one day, and it has been over a week, and they are still there. Just wondering, is that the case with anybody else? I will keep doing the urine therapy though, since it has worked for so many..
