My skin is like a chameleon; one day its light moderate, one day its severe cystic acne all over!
As of now, it is moderate with residual cysts (scabby, flaky, dead, still raised bumps), and one nodule on my chin.
I'll take pics tomorrow
So far my regimen is as follows:
AM:
Pop a 150mg Doryx
Use Proactiv's Renewing Cleanser (Scrub GENTLY for 45 secs, concentrating on broken out areas)
Use Proactiv's Revitalizing Toner (Small amount on cotton ball, sweep gently across skin let dry)
Use Proactiv's Repairing Cream (Small amount, rub into affected areas)
Top off with a moisturizer (CeraVe samples derm gave me)
Makeup:
Neutrogena's Skin Clearing Foundation mixed with a dab of Proactiv's SPF Moisturizer. Applu with finger tips
Dust face with Neutrogena's Healthy Skin pressed powder using fluffy brush to set foundation
Dust face with Physician's Formula Bronzing pearls using bigger fluffy brush
Dust cheeks with Physician's Formula's Blush using fluffy brush
( I emphasize the use of high quality "fluffier" brushes. They apply make up more evenly and don't force the pressed powders into your pores like sponges do. You can buy a decent one at claire's or walmart.)
(I also DO NOT believe in concealer. All it does is magnify a zit and make it crusty. Ladies, (and some men), we can still see the bumps, quit caking it on)
Apply Almay's i intense eye color junk for blue eyes ( I never use eye shadow wands, I use my finger tips and contor brushes only)
Apply Rimmel Gel Eyeliner in black on upper lash line and 3/4 of the way across lower lash line
Apply Falsies Mascara in Black to upper lashes (2 coats) and lower lashes (one coat)
Brush teeth with Crest Intense White
(My secret tip is to brush my lips gently with my tooth brush.. it removes the dried/dead skin and plumps them up)
Apply Softlips sheer tinted lip balm
During the Day:
Drinks lots of water
Avoid potato chips (It's not consuming them that causes me to break out, it's getting the grease on my chin/mouth area)
Avoid touching face
PM:
Wait till BF goes to sleep then sneak out of bed
Use Garnier Fructris Makeup Removing Wipes
Repeat Proactiv Regimen
Coat zits with their Vanishing Mask stuff
Pop a LoEstrin
Brush teeth
Sleep
Wake up and see the results
So far I have been on Loestrin for 2.5 weeks, it caused a slight break out on both cheeks, but it was expected this early in the game.
The break outs have been healing tremendously with the help of proactiv
I have been on Proactiv religiously for about a month now. Still some break outs on cheeks caused by the new birth control, but HUGE IMPROVEMENT over the rest of the face.
Skin feels soft and creamy. Looks flawless. Proactiv has annihilated everything except the few cysts on my face, but it still did help them disappear MUCH faster. (in just a week rather than months)
Started Doryx today to give my Proactiv system some extra OOMPH with those stubborn cysts!!
Derm assured me that break outs from LoEstrin will subside, and may even improve my skin!
He said to give it 2 - 3 months for my body to sort it all out.
