Day 20: Alright well the drying is still present, but on 3 pumps twice a day it is still manageable. Despite waking up w/ flakes, I can get most of them to go away throughout the day after a shower. The acne flareups have largely subsided, but I have a ton of red marks on my face so it's not perfect. I have a few breakouts that I'm not touching because they haven't really come to a head. I think overall my skin is indeed starting to look a bit better, although a big part of that might be the antibiotics and not the regimen... tough to say because I have no experimental "control" study here due to doing multiple things at once.

Hopefully my skin continues to clear and the red marks die off gradually... if anyone has any tips in dealing with PIH I'd love to hear em eusa_drool.gif

Day 24: Alright so I'm a good three weeks in at this point... can't say I've seen incredible progress, but that is mainly because I had a major breakout last night/this morning. I'm guessing it is due to alcohol, but I'm not going to stop socializing anytime soon so it is kind of unavoidable.

Before that breakout, I had a solid 3 days of 0 breakouts which was awesome... but now my face is pretty bad again. Hopefully it will die off soon, I am staying positive and hoping for the best before settling on accutane. Most people seem to see the turning point come aroudn week 6 according to posts on this board, so I will certainly give it a month from now before giving up.

Didn't mean to alert the pc police... haha eusa_doh.gif

Day 32: I think that overall I am breaking out a bit less than I normally would here 4 weeks in. The problem now is that I have a redonkulous amount of PIH all over my face that I think looks aweful. There's really nothing I can do but wait it out, I'm using AHA more often and hopefully that will help. I'm going to try to take it very easy this week, drink a lot of water, and maybe not touch my face very much (even to pop whiteheads). I'm hoping that my face will stop breaking out hardcore and I can begin to see some healing.

The bottom line: I believe my face is improving, but unfortunately if I were a random passerby... I think my face is still in pretty poor shape eusa_wall.gif

Day 35: Honestly getting frustrated... it's been 5 weeks at this point and my skin looks just as bad as it did on day one... and I've been on the full dosage of BP for like 3 weeks now, easily. I'm starting to think that the only reason that this has ever worked for anyone is that they just happened to grow out of their hormonal acne, which isn't happening here any time soon apparantly.

I'm going to keep giving it a shot until I relocate in a month and can start accutane. If it doesn't clear by then, I've basically tried everything else so there is really not much else to lose. I'm really just frustrated that this system hasn't seemed to work for me, but I'm holding onto the sliver of hope that things will turn.

you only just completed your first month. Acne doesn't clear up in a matter of days. it takes time. There is no miracle acne cure that works in a month. If you're already this frustrated a month in maybe this isn't for you. The regimen requires patience.

You will start to clear up around month 3-4. Dan's "what to expect" guidelines are a bit optimistic as it takes most longer. If you read peoples logs you'll notice they are full of ups and downs but eventually they do get clear. Hang in there and remember that this requires patience. You will be clear. But most likely not for another 2 or 3 months. Small amount of time for clear skin if you ask me.

Day 42: Still no improvement, my face is looking pretty bad... really dissapointed to this point as I've paid a lot for this BP that hasn't had any effect other than drying out my skin. I'm going to keep going, but basically because at this point I am waiting until I can start Accutane.

At this point, if you were thinking of starting Dan's regimine, my advice would be not to bother.

How are you on Day 52 when June 22nd was day 35???

But seriously don't give in, for some people it took 3 months + for improvement! & if June 22nd was day 35 then you are now only on day 44. That's not even 2 months in. Keep at it and I'm sure you will see improvement!

@northlincs4kylie, haha mistype! meant to say Day 42... fixed now thanks for catching smile.gif

Day 47: Actually seeing improvement! Obviously I'm holding my breath, but wouldn't that be sweet if when I was about to throw in the towel I had a miraculous change? Almost no actives after a few days of sun on the beach -- although my skin is still pretty darn brutal with red marks. I finally got this huge monstrosity that i thought might be a cyst on my cheek drained... some clear liquid started coming out which I know is bad, but hey it seems to be fading so that is good!

No problem! I'm glad you seem to be seeing improvement now smile.gif

I'm on Day 39 and don't seem to have seen a significant improvement yet but I think I'm still purging. I am sooo with you on those bloody red marks too!

I've ordered more products to make myself keep at it! Ha

Day 48: Welp... as expected I spoke entirely too soon. I had a few good days where there wasn't anything major that popped to the surface, but now I wake up this morning to several new guys. Yipee. My skin is like a rollercoaster that wobble between "horrible" and "almost improving" just enough to give me hope before I enter a new trough, haha.

Ah well... I'll give it another couple of weeks before throwing in the towel on Dan's Regimen. The on thing that really bugs me about this system is how freaking long it takes... maybe I'll only waste $150-200ish in total on my two months but I am also giving up a TON of man hours just applying, rinsing, waiting to dry, reapplying, waiting to dry, etc two times a day seven days a week. At least my skin isn't flaking out of control like most people on here, though I've probably permanently damaged it with all this BP tongue.gif

Will keep everyone posted through the end. I don't know why I'm still motivated but I'm still goin' hard as possible on this regimen until I relocate and am forced to commit to accutane as my last means of cleardom.

Day 53: Hmmm... since my last post my face has been improving a lot. I wanted to wait a few days since no active breakouts to post again, and its been a few days in a row of nothing new! I had one on my forehead that I decided to just alleviate last night -- a bit strange because I normally don't get ANYTHING on my forehead. At any rate, my skin is at a level where I have just recently started to consider NOT doing Accutane... yeah this goes contrary to what I said earlier but things are better definitely.

I feel like my skin MIGHT be turning the corner. I haven't had any nasty breakouts in a while (7-10 days) so my skin has started to heal and the marks are beginning to die down. I know that these red marks are going to take forever to die, they have been spots of recurring acne for years and are pretty beat up. If anyone has any tips to speed the process I'm all ears.

Naturally, I am most concerned about not seeing any new acne. I am tabling this at 3 weeks from today. If my skin continues to improve over the next three weeks than I will not be embarking on Accutane. This would be a huge step and, by all means, I still anticipate doing Accutane for the long-term benefits of the procedure. However, if this is really indeed that magical turning point that a ton of people have been alluding to with the Acne.org Regimen process, than I would love to forego the risks involved in Accutane and just stick with this.

Will keep this log running over the next few weeks to see if the positive change in direction holds... or if it is another fakeout like it has been so many times in the past.

-Joe

Day 78: Sorry it took me so long to get back on here. I've been doing the regimen religiously for 78 days to this point and, honestly, have almost nothing to show for it as I had feared. MAYBE it worked for some people, but at this point I have to have my severe doubts and just say that perhaps they cleared naturally and it was a total coincidence.

Not only am I still breaking out, but I'm breaking out with more than just the small things like I was accustomed to a month or two into the program. My face is still red and dried (this NEVER goes away guys, BP is just so darn drying) and any "good days" are clearly wiped out with a string of bad.

I went to my new dermatologist the other day to talk about Accutane and he told me he thought it was a good idea (to my relief, finally a supportive MD). I'm getting bloodwork done today and will start the program in around a week. I will link to my accutane post (will make one on acne.org) once I start so you guys who are especially interested in progress logs can follow along.

I appreciate all of your support throughout this forum, but the Acne.org Regimen did not work for me.

Alright so as of today I am officially on Accutane! My rating for the Acne.org system is a 3/10. It may help your acne ever so slightly... but it is a HUGE process to do twice a day (takes around an hour when you factor in drying times), dries up your face, causes redness, requires a LOT of products and costs a pretty penny. Accutane is actually going to save me a lot of cash because of my insurance plan (I'm sure its very expensive without).
