Im just about to finish my 4th box of 30 pills at 40mg a day...started in Janurary and i still am getting pimples.

i weight 60kg ..............

damn what is going on

i haven't gotten "big" pimples in a few weeks now, but i still am getting small ones that just annoy me!

shouldn't i be at the point where i am getting NO pimples? i only have 1 box left after this one...

Have you been taking your pill/s with food?

I'm at a similar position as OP, closing in on my last month and still getting acne. Should accutane be taken with fat? I find it hard with my diet but regardless I always take accutane with food.

You should have had by now a flawless skin, especially if I am looking at your dossage. 40 mg/day at 60 kilos is a high dossage. I don't think that the fact if you are taking it with food or not matters (thus, I would recommend taking it with food.). In my case, the acne disappeared after 2 weeks..but unfortunatelly It came bach after 3-4 month I stopped the treatment. It's been almost 3 month since I have finished the second round of accutane, my skin starts to be oily again, but I do not have big pimples, only a mild acne. I really hope that my skin will stay like this, especially that I am also following a natural diet to prevent it... time will decide.

I don't know what's happening in your case.. maybe your problem has another root cause and accutane is not the solution. I know that accutane is more effective after you reach 22-23 years. Do you have an oily skin in general? Accutane dries skin, no more oil, no more bacteria, no more acne. If you had a dry skin before accutane, maybe your acne is caused by something else (not excess of sebum)..maybe unbalanced hormons?
I am not an expert, I am talking only from my own experience..

Hope u ll find the solution to your problem
Lots of courage and positive thinking!!!!

sorry to disagree with the above poster but you don't have to have flawless skin even at the end of your course. Sometimes you need to be on longer to achieve 'clear' skin but even when you have no active acne left you can still have many scars, red marks, uneven skintone and blemishes that look like acne.
In your case I'd wait until the end of the course, if your still getting active acne then your derm will probably extend your course, i was in a similar position as you. Before assuming that you still have acne make sure your not disregarding the imperfections as acne when it my not be, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation/ red marks/ scars, they can look like active acne but are not. Also you may have underlying spots that are surfacing and not necessarily causing a breakout.

When i finished my accutane course i had loads of red marks which i thought were acne but aren't actually. My skin is far from perfect right now but has no active acne left, i kept thinking that accutane had not worked, as for now ive just gotta find away to fade these red marks and uneven skintone.

Bottom line is make sure it is active acne that you are getting and then wait to the end of your course, if things havn't changed you can extend your course until you no longer breakout. Good luck

I've had dry lips after the first few weeks. My eyes are starting to get a little dry and irritated as of late so I'm using eyedrops now. Dosage is 70mg/day.

Weight 80kg. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to count my cumulative dose since my weight has been fluctuating a lot, from 75kg to 85kg. I only have enough pills for a cumulative dose at 75kg but like I said I was almost up to 90kg at one point.

i have a lot of red marks...but i also am getting active pimples as well

i didn't have oily skin before, i had dry skin. i use jojoba oil on my face as a moisturizer so theres always oil on my face but i don't think this is a bad kind, it helps i think.

is there a way to see inside my body and find out the cause of this acne?

My skin's oiliness is 'fine' not really a problem. In the past it was a problem, but not anymore.
