Hi there!! :9

After having read a lot, diet is linked with acne after all. Then I realized that the cause of my acne was Whey protein, 1 year ago I started going to the gym, started with whey protein 10 months ago, and got acne 8 months ago.

Now I stopped drinking it for 1 week and i've really seen positive changes biggrin.gif but, got 4 whiteheads this week, before were like 10 per week. And still with oily nose and forehead.

Since they main ingredient from whey protein is milk, I can deduce milk makes me break out. Milk has a hormone which literally "turns on" the sebaceous gland.

Now my question is: How many time is it going to take to "turn off" the gland, of course not drinking/eating any milk product.

ps: im with BP 10% anyways, and cleanser with salycilic acid, sunscreen as moisturizer

All it should take is a couple days off anything that would stimulate that hormone, unless your body is really that messed up. Which I doubt unless you were taking some really crappy whey or drinking waayy too much milk.

You might wanna try some all natural hemp protein. It's 43% protein, with 10 amino acids. Also it contains 9 grams of dietary fiber, and 4 grams of fat with a 1 to 4 ratio of omega 3 to 6. It's vegan, soy free, dairy free, and gluten free.

Whey breaks me out like crazy...this stuff is clean though. Perfect post workout refuel.

Hemp will suck post work-out compared to whey though. It'll take much longer to absorb.

hehe after being sad for 6 months (acne), i'll forget supplements for a while, just huge amounts of carbs such as rice and oats

It really does not matter. The post workout drink magic has been extremely overhyped in order to sell products (the fitness/supplement industry loves this type of stuff). I have not had a post workout shake in probably a year, oftentimes going food shopping after a workout delaying a postworkout meal by even longer. The difference? I have noticed absolutely no difference, with mirrors a lot of peoples' experience on the matter.

Chestercool: This reply is really late, but I think you are still on these boards. Were you using 100% whey protein? Because I was using a shake that broke me out called Iso Mass Xtreme Gainer and it had carbs, omega oils, creatine, and vitamins and minerals, in addition to whey protein. I found out the carbs in it were maltodextrin, a substance that absorbs even faster than sugar, destroying insulin sensitivity. Of course it could have been something else in the protein shake that broke me out too.

I was thinking that a 100% whey protein shake might not break me out because it doesn't have all of those added ingredients. What do you think?

Yeah, that stuff is shit. You should be good man, this: http://www.bodybuild...e/hfit/whey.htm brand doesn't do much harm at all to my skin. There's also tons of "organic" whey proteins out there that I'll leave up to you to look into if you're interested.

Anyways, as always, real food is much better than a shake.
