Hi there! I just joined, though I've been a long time lurker.

I'm on tazorac .5% cream, I tend to pop and pick so I do not know if it is working.

I hadn't picked in almost 3 weeks and finally started to clear up and then I got a large white head on my chin that I overpicked and then I went after teeny-tiny whiteheads. I was very stressed about a date I have tomorrow and messed with my face. After picking I feel sad and horrible. I want to stop.

Now I have 3 mini scabs and a larger scab on my chin redface.gif .

I've attached some pictures and plan to every Thursday, from now on, it'll be a motivation for me not to pick. I've also put these same pictures (and some of me semi-clear) on a widget so I'll see them cycling through to remind myself the white head looks better than a red scab.

OMFG!!! u do realize u creep the shit out of me with those pics right now this moment? shock.gif

u see i was once reading this horror manga (japanese comic) called uzumaki (spiral) which just well if u read it at night changes your life forever, u can block memory of that story and bury it deep into chambers of your brain but once u see picture like that there in your post n remind yourself all that everything, it just haunts u back again!

if u ever read it, read it at night, read it at darkness and silence around (or even more with creepy music) u will never look at the spirals the same!!! and thats why the moment i click on your pic, i swear scared the hell out of me that moment!! lol but yea!

ontopic: your skin is good, just dont pick n ull be fine, try wearing gloves to prevent yourself & better control & good luck!

oh my goood @___@

Thanks guys (sorry I scared you pokemonster!), I wish I was happier with my skin. My close friends have never had any acne and maybe get one pimple a year, so I usually feel worse about mine.

I usually pick when I look in the mirror, which I try to avoid. I've gotten better and don't pick right away, but my mother pointed out that my chin had a big zit and I couldn't help, but pop it. Once I start it's almost trance like...
It's hard to break the habit. I think if I do stop picking I'll clear up completely, maybe I need to keep reminding myself of that when I get the urge to pick.

do you just pick, i.e. pop squeeze or do you also rub over these pimples, and thus this cause the pimples to pop and get damaged?

I just squeeze them until they pop, my picking only happens in front of a mirror. I'm not sure what you exactly mean by rub over, I don't touch or press down on the pimples except to squeeze them when I try to pop them.

Those are what mine look like when I pop mine too. If they're really bad where I worry that I caused permanent scarring, I put some polysporin on them. I squeezed one by the corner of my lip yesterday, but it came out easily enough that I think it was ready anyway. But I hate the red mark left over afterwards. Yours look pretty superficial though in that they will probably just scab up and be gone in a few days. I bet they can be easily covered with concealer too. Sometimes when I squeeze mine, they're easy to cover up. It really depends though, sometimes, no amount of concealer can cover it.

They probably can be covered easily, but I don't. I used to cover them and I would pick way more often since I could just slab makeup over it. The red marks are the worse. My one cheek has almost none, since they've healed, but the other one has alot. Another reason not to pick!

A small red pimple appeared sometime yesterday on the side of my face, by my temple. I'm trying not to touch it at all, knowing it's there is driving me crazy.

I picked a bit today, ugh. I knew I was too close to the mirror! I won't let myself touch tomorrow.

You can do it! biggrin.gif If it annoys you too much, just ice it for a little while. If you don't pick, it'll go away and you'll never know it was ever there. smile.gif

Thanks! I've actually iced it a bit. I'm just trying to keep away from my mirror so I don't see it. I'm sick of popping and leaving marks.
