on 26 Ferbruary 2011 after being on dans BP regimen for 5 years, BP suddenly burned my face. A course of penicillin and some cortisone cream later i develeped a very mild case of Perioral Dermititis

That was 2 weeks ago, now I am left with a mild case of ance and mild perioral dermatitis

Here is what I am at:

Morning
Brush teeth with non Flouride or non SLS toothpaste, sensodyne original
Dans Cleanser
Dans New Moisturiser with a drop of Dans Joba Joba Oil
Oral shot of Apple Cider Vinegar

Evening
One Minocycline Pill
Brush teeth with non Flouride or non SLS toothpaste, sensodyne original
Dans Cleanser
Dans New Moisturiser with a drop of Dans Joba Joba Oil
Oral shot of Apple Cider Vinegar
Lamasil Cream applied to Perioral Dermatitis Lesions
using the Lumiport Pen to spot treat any acne (will be replaced by the Lumie Clear on my whole face when it arrives next week)

POD 6/10
Just started the lamasil cream last night and it has made the 6 or so POD lesions on my face to fade a good bit, 2 of the 3 on my upper lip are still red and sore the third has faded. Took my first shop of ACV just there (afraid to apply it topically for the minute)

ACNE 4/10
my skin is doing suprisinly ok considering i havent applied any of the BP muck in a week, one large pimple on my chin, a small one and a couple of dead ones, Used the lumiport on the two pimples and a red area in the middle of my chin

MOOD 10/10
The mood is very good , the lamasil and the moisturiser with joba joba and the new toothpaste really seem to be fading most of the POD marks and hopeful about the ACV and the lumie clear. i had 6 on my forehead a few days ago and these are gone, the 6 on my left cheek look faded a bit, only the two stubborn ones on my upper lip. I do not care about the acne pimples, POD clearance is the priority

Hi vanilla thanks for reading, its mainly caused by a combination of cortisone cream (steroid cream) and cosmetics and toothpaste with flouride or sodium laury sulphate* in it , mainly the steroid cream, did you use any on your face? it is a nightmare but treatable if you know what to do, note i have had an amazing improvement since using dans new moisturiser and dans joba joba, i would be lost without these two products biggrin.gif...and avoiding any cosmetics..and changing my toothpaste

how are you getting on and are you noticing improvements? you doing anything else apart from the pills?..listening to anyone that is doing anything that works..wink.gif

..ditched the lamasil in favour of topical apple cider vinegar on the POD lesions!!..due to many raves on the internet ..and it feels less chemically

its a bold move considering the lamasil seemed to work somewhat last night...but i am going for da pin!!!

..and the overall look of my regimen now looks very natural and contains no nasty chemicals apart from the one prescribed antibiotic, proud of this at this point

I did not change toothpastes or use a steroid cream. Sooo i dont know what its from! Yes it has been a nightmare. I started the ampicillin a week ago and the POD is actually almost gone. Aside from taking the antibiotic, I've been moisturizing like crazy cause it was also super dry in the areas where the POD breakouts were. And I've been avoiding any form of cosmetics aside from light eye make up.

Is yours getting any better? Hope so!!

This thread is fairly dead but I'm curious how this all worked for you both. I just started trying apple cider vinegar on one side of my mouth and it turned bright red not long after. There is no burning sensation so I'm thinking that is a good reaction. I'll leave it for the rest of the day and see how it is tomorrow. I have Protopic prescribed by my doctor which works wonders but has never fully eliminated it. I'm hoping the ACV will completely eliminate it.
