If you have large pores or an orange peel textured skin along with your oily skin, chemical peels could worsen your condition.

Bacteria has a harder time thriving in highly acidic environments, so any chemical peel will kill bacteria to a certain extent on your face. Even daily cleansing removes some bacteria temporarily. There was actually research done against normal soap and antibacterial soap and both performed relatively the same!

After any peel, your skin thins and is usually drier. Again, this is just a temporary side effect from peels.

Chemical peels are NOT used for bacteria or to reduce oil..they are meant to clear pores, stimulate collagen production, reduce scarring, and even texture!

TCA is one of the stronger acids, and does lighten red marks decently over time. If you want scar reduction you're going to need a stronger concentration from a skincare clinic. Deeper peels shouldn't be done at home...
For any peel you do end up using at home, follow the directions and don't go nuts with it.

And please wear sunscreen.
