Okay, so while reading blogs about finding the "perfect" acne products, I stumbled upon product lists of pore clogging ingredients, like the one here: well it won't show the link (i'm editing), but a quick google search will pull up several. I looked at several, and most were the same. There was a good one on face reality's site also.

Anyway, I've been using proactiv, which worked for awhile, but then the cystic acne returned. Whiteheads are still gone, yay...but big red zits remain. (about 4 at a time, it's been worse, but still.... sigh. So I noticed that cetearyl alcohol it is on the no no list and is in proactiv, go figure. So I haven't had time to dig through ingredients lists online and in my basket of ineffective remedies, so I was wondering if anyone has explored this? I really don't want to quit the BP, because I'm sure it's necessary, but it will likely be a challenge to find one that doesn't include at least one of the long list of bad ingredients. Honestly, you would think that the people making this stuff could maybe have a list in hand and work around it! I'm sure they would be a lot more efficient than everyone having to dig through lists!

Please let me know if anyone has done the research and has found a regimen (or a link to one) that eliminates all that stuff. Thanks!

I find BP way too harsh for my skin, so I mix the gel with a small dab of water (lol) and it works perfectly. I use bio oil as a moisturizer. I know it's an oil, but it doesn't break me out for some reason (I have oily skin).

I found Cetaphil to be a fantastic cleanser, although it has sodium lauryl sulfate.
Spectro Jel isn't as nearly as effective for my face compared to Cetaphil, but that's a personal opinion

I cleanse (spectro. I want to finish it first. the cetaphil turned into this weird consistency...),
apply bio oil,
apply BP w/ water,
rub gently to remove dead skin,
apply BP w/ water,
remove dead skin,
apply bio oil.

I take 2000 IU Vitamin D3 per day
1 capsule of Bilberry once couple of days (antioxidant, great for eyes)
2 capsules of Omega 3-6-9 a day (Buy omega 3. You can get omega 6 & 9 in food. I got scammed -.-)

Salicylic acid doesn't do anything for me =/

Thanks for the reply! I have recently started the D3 and fish oil, but I haven't tired bilberry (I think I'll look into though), I am using green tea extract and acai. Thanks for the tips. What brand of BP are you using?

This is where I first found that list... It's quite lengthy! I think I have a new project.
