I don't mean to be a downer.. but just FYI so you can re-adjust your expectations - Dan's timeline isn't really accurate. I'm sure many people can agree with me that it typically takes at least 3-6+ months to be totally clear.

Anyway, good luck with your regimen!

No that's good, thank you for telling me. I don't mind waiting, it's just easier when I have like a time line in mind. I'm 2 months in now, and deff still breakout, and am still flaky.

Just found your log, thanks for sharing with us, your skin is clearing up very well! Im about to be on my fourth week, and I just ordered Dans bp because I am currently using persagel 10 and my face is feeling sensitive, and I can't put it on my neck it turns my neck orange! But your an encouragement that the bp helps, thanks girl smile.gif

Aw thank you, I'm glad all my whining is somehow helping someone. wink.gif Omgosh it turns your neck orange? That's no fun >.< yeah Dan's BP doesn't do that lol. How is your progress coming?

pretty good, i'm on week four, my order should be here tomorrow, I can't wait to try dans bp. My chin and neck are clear, and my skin is feeling not as rough, so thats a plus. I have still been breaking out on my cheeks really bad, but they don't last as long, and this months breakout was not as bad as last month, so I think the bp is working for me. My skin isn't burning as bad when I put on my moisturizer, and the bp isn't as irritating this week. I just don't like the 10% bp its too strong and the cream doesn't soak in, just kind of sits there after it dries, and when I moisturize it kind of takes away the white, so I don't know if the bp cream is soaked in enough? But I can tell a difference tho, hopefully month two and three will be easier, my skin just got so sensitive this first month!

I don't even want to use AHA as a spot treatment, lol...but that is just me being paranoid. I mean, if it works for you--do it! We're all different smile.gif I just remember when I heard it was good for acne scars, I put some on and got pimples right after. I even tried using lemons (which is a natural AHA) to no avail.

That being said, some people have great results with.

Hope I helped! smile.gif

Faith-
Have you ever tried Lac Hydrin Five? I am noticing in your pictures that your face is consistently very shiny. That was happening to me too, and I think my breakouts are less noticable when I use a moisturizer that doesn't also add shine. Lac Hydrin Five has a nice 2% AHA mix, so you get the effects of AHA but it is not "hardcore" like Dans AHA+ (which has 10% AHA I believe)... so you might not get the negatives that you have experienced so far. In addition, Lac Hydrin goes on and dries very fast -- my face never looks oily and it doesn't break me out as much as other moisturizers.

Give it a look! A lot of people claim you can't find it anywhere... but it is at my local CVS

pcoschick82 - I'm glad your starting to notice some progress, let me know how Dan's BP works out for you. smile.gif and for that white stuff you get after using BP that happens to me not matter how long I try to rub it in for, I just let it sit and soak into my skin.

helena870- no I haven't but I'll go check it out smile.gif How far along on the Regimen are you?

austinda- Thank you so much for the help! I stopped using AHA and I have noticed as GIANT improvement. I am going to take updated pictures soon so I can show everyone where I'm at.

averagejoe88 - Thank you for your suggestion, No I haven't tried it, did AHA breakout youout before you used the moisturizer that has it in it? I'm afraid of AHA now since my skin has cleared up a lot since I stopped using it. I will look into it that product when Dan's moisturizer is gone though. Thanks again. smile.gif

15 Week update (almost 4 months)

So I was going to wait and do this update after my finals were over so I could include some pictures, but I figured I would just give everyone a little update first.

I AM SO HAPPY WITH MY SKIN RIGHT NOW!!! I am more happy with my skin then I have been in years. I am completely cleared up! Sometimes I do feel a new little friend coming on I treat it with AHA and it usually will stop it in its tracks, or if it does still come it's super tiny (I'm used to GIANT ones like ten times the size.) I still don't use AHA all over, since I'm scared I may break out, but as a spot treatment it works amazingly.

I have a lot of post pigmentation, but even that is starting to lighten up, I am really so excited it's insane.

Dryness? Flaky skin? No longer a problem for me. I finally went to the store to try a new moisturizer, at first I was looking for something for oily skin like I usually do, then it occurred to me I know longer have "oily" skin. BP has dried my skin up so much that it's never even close to shiny on it's own. So I got Cetaphil Daily advance Ultra hydrating LOTION for dry sensitive skin.

I did try the CREAM too, and all though that was hydrating as well, (even more so than the lotion) it was harder to apply because of the cream form. Neither of them broke me out though.

It really had made a HUGE difference, I do still get dry skin sometimes but no where near as flaky as it used to be.

I am really happy at this point smile.gif

For those just starting the Regimen:

If I have one piece of advice it's this, go into it with realistic expectations.

If your like me you have read countless posts to try and learn everything about what to expect when on the Regimen.

Honestly the first few months suck, your skin is dry and flaky and your still breaking out on top of it. You probably have read a bunch of posts where people started seeing improvements after only a couple of weeks, well for me it took over 3 months before I saw any improvement. I was hoping to see changes after only a couple of weeks like other people, but for me that didn't happen. So if it takes longer then you expected just keep going!

You look absoloutely gorgeous! You're a beautiful girl with or without acne but your skin is pratically glowing in those pictures (:

It's given me some serious motivation to keep pushing on and hopefully I'll get fab results too!

Thank you!!! The post pigmentation sucks a bit, but I'll take it over acne any day. wink.gif Yes keep pushing on! I wanted to quit several times, but trust me it's worth it in the end.

OMGosh! I'm so excited for you, girl! I've been on the Regimen for 4 weeks (4th week actually started yesterday) and i feel like i'm clearing up, but i am still getting some pimples... Like you, i have read so many people's regimen logs (obviously still am!) and looked at Dan's What To Expect Chart about a million times, and i cannot wait to be as clear as you and others. I'd say my acne's level at the start was about the level yours was when you started & i'm doing the Regimen as close to accurately as possible so (crossing my fingers!) hopefully by 15 weeks i will be as stoked as you are with the results!

Congrats, again!! You look beautiful! biggrin.gif
