I will keep you posted. I had to chuckle at your comments on trying everything. I used every home remedy known to man! Egg on face (don't try this at home...doesn't work), vinegar, sugar..yes, sugar sounds crazy but someone told me that's how they cleared their skin..doesn't work I'm here to tell ya" eusa_boohoo.gif

I am a swimmer. I swim 1/2 mile before work each day but haven't been in a week and a half so I need to get back to it. I am a bit afraid of the chlorine and forgot to ask my doctor about whether or not it would dry my skin out too badly or possibly cause excess bacteria on my face.

I think the excercise is good therapy if nothing else!

I was so happy with my skin today I still am not wearing any base make up or powder. I am loving the results overall so far. The texture of my skin is completely different.

Please keep posting.I enjoy reading your input. We will get there one way or another!! eusa_dance.gif

Congrats. My concern is long term effects. Have you spoke with your doctor? What about checking into waiting before your next treatment? Are you happy enough not to do the other treatments? I imagine, multiple treatments does damage but, as I said in the holistic nutrition thread, I've tried loads of healthy eating. This hasn't worked to remove acne or even lessen it. I still got cystic acne. Last spout was in the 3month span I was suppose to be seeing my dermatologist but, my doc office called me 3months later, missed my appointed, and gave me a date that never existed. My dermatologist is amazing and I trust him. For the most part, I don't trust doctors, and that has been my experience. My dermatologist talks with me and has given me samples, anything free, and told me to not hesitate even if its just to talk. I couldn't have gotten a better guy. I just wish I could have got help sooner.

Good luck Donna. Glad your doing well. Thank you for posting as well.

ps: Where did you go for fraxel? If your uncomfortable due to wanting to remain anonymous, feel free to pm me.

Hey therre~

Yes, I am very happy so far with my results. The texture of my skin has improved so much just in one treatment that I do not even wear base make-up or powder; only lips and eyes. I have researched long term effects of lasers but there is just not enough material out to confirm anything.

My doctor has the newest laser so I know that even all the reviews are going to be different due to the make, model, etc. There are SO many variables that come into the results one achieves that I don't even go there. I studied this process and doctors that perform it for literal months before I took the plunge.

My doctor is Dr. Erika Kelly in Galveston, TX at UTMB. Awesome doctor and so glad I found her. At some point in life you have to take risks in order to be happy, you know. This one is mine. If I get good results like I have so far, it is worth the risk to me. I do not take it without knowledge and unaware of potential dangers. I do know lasers have been used for many years now and they continue to improve them and make them safer and reduce risks. Always impoving as with anything else.

Thanks for the post. Good luck to you too!

I will post another pic on Friday at the two week mark.

So far I am very happy and can't wait until May 20th for my next treatment!!

24_Hours_Post_Fraxel_Treatment_2_II.jpg eusa_dance.gif Good morning folks~

This is the morning after my second fraxel treatment and I am redder than the first but have about the same amount of swelling. The doctor decided to go up to the highest strength this time because I tolerated the procedure so well last time. If you read my blog you can see she was almost at the highest level last time already.

This treatment didn't bother me as much as the first one because I knew what to expect and how bad it was going to get...or not. I knew the down time, etc. so the fear of the unknown factor had been removed. My eyes are watering a lot like last time but I think it is due to swelling. For some reason I swell the most around my eyes. I am not in any pain at all but not likely to go out shopping today that's for sure. eusa_naughty.gif

I will upload pics later today. So far I am loving the treatment results. The entire texture of my skin is different and better just after one treatment. Oh...also, I read the comment below on the Baylor College of Medicine site regarding the particular type of laser treatment I am receiving:

"The risks of scarring or skin discoloration are extremely low as this technology is very gentle on the skin."

That made me feel much better!

Donna

Hi everyone~

I am 8 days post second fraxel treatment and I am loving the results. I am wanting to take photos and upload but my G3 is not working (only after 7 months...don't get me started). Anyways, they have sent me a new one and I will receive it on Tuesday. I will upload a pic on Wednesday.

This treatment took a bit longer to heal because she kicked up the laser to full strength, but the redness is gone now and I can just use mineral powder to cover what little is left.

My scars have diminished and the overall texture of my skin is different. More later...

20_Days_after_2nd_Fraxel_Treatment_I.jpg 20 days after the second fraxel treatment and I am loving the results so far. My skin texture is completely different and there are patches of skin where I see nothing but smooth! I have my third treatment in one week and I can hardly wait! It is kind of wierd, but I have not peeled one time. Don't want to necessarily...just thought it was odd..more later!

Thank you!! I am noticing a world of difference. I am very happy with the results so far. Thanks about the eyes! I will keep posting pics, even up until 6 months or so after all the treatments are complete.

3rd_Fraxel_Treatment_Day_After.jpg Well, I had my 3rd fraxel treatment done yesterday. It is getting more tolerable because I know what to expect and how long it takes. I count the passes as she goes over my face and count them down! lol

My eyes are more swollen this time. She went around them more than before so I expected that. I am red as usual and nothing unusual happening. My mouth is very swollen though. I seem to have "folds" AKA "wrinkles" rolleyes.gif around my mouth so she zapped those really well.

I will upload pics later on. I got my new G3 so I will be able to take daily pics this time. My other one broke right after my last treatment so I wasn't able to upload daily pics. Stay tuned...

Donna

Okay, here's my pic. My hair looks all crazy because of all the face washing and cream applications! Distracts from my face I guess. lol

3rd_Fraxel_Treatment_Day_2_II.jpg

3rd Fraxel treatment day 2. Okay folks...this is how I look today; about 45 hours after my third treatment. I wish the camera would do it justice, but it doesn't. I am really brown today and my skin is scaley. I am still really puffy all over my face and it makes it awkward to smile. biggrin.gif My eyes are still very puffy especially. It is three digit temps here so I only stepped outdoors to take this pic...then right back in!

That's all to report today.

3rd_Fraxel_Treatment_Day_2_II_GO.jpg Well, I know I seem like I am sad or something in this pic, but I am actually just swollen all over my face and pretty red. My nose is peeling and my eyes look offset due to the swelling. Not so flattering folks! Anyways, I am very excited that all the treatments are behind me. I have an appointment in a month to see how all this has worked and to see if I might get additional help with the scars that did not heal so well. It is supposed to take 6 months after the last treatment to get full results so I am excited to move forward.

I can see overall good results. I will post side by side pics in a week or so. I can see marked improvements in the scarring and my overall texture of skin is completely different.

Stay tuned for more photos. I hope this blogging has helped others who may be considering this treatment for whatever reason they are choosing. smile.gif

I'm back with an updated pic! I am loving my results! My skin continues to improve and I only wear primer...no base...no powder! I am so happy! I received numerous comments on my complexion at a get together over the weekend. I am very careful always...never go out in direct sunlight for more than 15 minutes at a time and always wear sunblock.
