After doing tons of research into why people skin pick in general.. i decided to note down when i skin pick and why..
1. In front of the mirror to get rid of scabs and dry skin.. but then i slowly move on to acne and scratch that why? because im bored and i think it will remove the top layer of skin thus improving my over all appearance.
2. In front of the tv / computer cause im bored and its similar to scartching my hair due to boredom or a slight itch due to dryness / flakiness
Whats the effect of it?
Since i use AHA im actraully damaging the bottom layer of my skin and irritating it causing more scarring and acne... my cheek area is really struggling to heal because i keep on touching it! imagine both cheeks really red full of scabs with a bit of acne.. thats me ..i've been like that for 2 months now.
Im trying to avoid mirrors but they are everywhere!
My new strategy is to keep my skin moist ... less bp and more moisturizer so that i dont have the urge to itch and also ill try my ultimate hardest to stay away from mirrors or limit it.
Im going on holidays in about 6 weeks time and i'd really love to be relatively clear... to be continued
Why do u guys skin pick? when do you pick? how is it affecting you? what can u do to improve it?
Why do you skin pick? when do you pick?

I've found that I pick most often when I'm feeling particularly bad about myself or I've perceived something I've done as a failure on my part. Basically, I don't often pick out of boredom, but when I'm feeling emotionally delicate.
I never do it when other people are around because it's something that I'm quite ashamed of, and again, because I do it when I'm feeling fragile, I'm usually avoiding people at the time in any case...
I'm not sure what to do to avoid it since it's still a battle that I'm fighting, but I'm starting to do it less because I realize I'm doing more damage to my skin on top of the acne itself. Even when one of my pimples is kind of grotesque and embarrassing, it always looks better than when I've squeezed it to death and the skin around it is red, it's raised and there's fluid leaking out of it.
I wish I could be rational when I'm looking in the mirror and I want to pick at my skin - I'm rational enough when I'm reflecting on it! Gosh.
