hey everyone!
like most people here i have had acne for a really really REALLY long time and have tried so many different products to help it, nothing has really worked. i've been on every antibiotic, tried every cream and gel, and my most previous attempt was with accutane. i recently stopped about a month shy of the end of my SECOND accutane course.
accutane worked really well at clearing up my face but i was experiencing too much hair loss to make it worth it. so since i was nearly at the end of my course my face is pretty clear right now, lots of red marks and a few small pimples. i am starting the regimen because i dont want to be passive and wait for the acne to come back before i try something else, i am trying to be proactive!
so i just got my regimen delivered to me yesterday and i plan to start it tonight. i'm definitely worried about all the redness/dryness that everyone is talking about... my skin is already extremely dry from the accutane.
once i get my camera to work i will start to post pics! but right now, i am curious how many people use jojoba oil and whether or not it works for you? i didn't order it with my package bc i didn't think i'd need it but now i'm having second thoughts ???? helppppp!!
more to come!
... another regimen log ...

another question! where does AHA come in your regimen? after BP, before BP, after moisturizing??

yay, welcome!
since your skin is already super dry, make sure you start super slowly okay? because i'm worried you'll get really flakey/irritated and want to quit
just know that in 3 months you will be so thankful you stuck it out. the first month is really the worst (much like accutane) and then it's all uphill from there!
AHA goes on after BP, before moisturizer (although most people don't use moisturizer when they use AHA, since it is a moisturizer itself). do NOT use it until month 3 though.
good luck, i'm rooting for ya!

so this is day 1 on the regimen...
i have been using a small amount of BP so that my skin can get accustomed to it before i go BP crazy. i'm really surprised at how long it takes to go through the regimen in the morning and i'm pretty worried that i will mess it up by not waiting for my face to be completely dry after each part of the process.... i literally get up 15 min before i have to leave for work and don't have time to wait for my face to dry! urghhhh
just wanted to complain a little!

keep it up, it'll get easier! it's definitely a lifestyle change and takes a lot of patience. soon you'll get used to it, you'll find things to do in between applications (such as shower, do your hair and get dressed, put on bp, eat breakfast and brush your teeth, put on moisturizer and then do last minute things while it soaks in!) then you're off to work! also, it won't make much difference if you just wait 10 minutes instead of 15

thanks so much!! my face is super dry today so i think i may skip the bp tonight just to give my skin a breather! but good news- i'm no longer shedding crazy amounts from accutane. i think my hair loss stopped and hopefully that means that my hair will start to grow back and get full again. my scalp still feels really sensitive though. i used to have a tough scalp, hairdressers would yank my head around and i'd feel nothing, but now even just having my hair in a ponytail hurts. it feels like it's ripping the hair right out of my head :/

that's awesome news about the shedding. let me know if/when you start to notice some regrowth
.. ugh i'm sad to say i know what you mean about the ponytail situation, anytime i run my hands through my hair or put it up it feels like im ripping out so much hair and that the weight from my ponytail is ripping the hair out of my head.. my scalp is sore all the time.. hair loss does make u paranoid tho.. so paranoid that this winter when the wind was blowing and i had my hair down, my scalp felt so cold and i started freaking out bc i dont remember by head ever feeling cold in the winter (due to my thick mane lol) and i was thinking if maybe i had lost so much hair that i could now feel the cold through my accuthin hair lol.. twas a sad sad day.. now im at the point where i am counting the hairs i shed in the shower.. ahhh hair loss drives you CRAZY!

sorry! i haven't been on here in weeks.... only good things to report! my face has been absolutely clear since i started dan's regimen (with his products). no breakouts whatsoever, not even around that time of the month. It has been about 3 weeks so far. i am extremely happy with the results!! i hope that by the time accutane leaves my system my face will still be clear
