holy shit kitty! your left side is showing SIGNIFICANT improvement. good job!

your pictures are funny, it's entertaining trying to figure out what you look like under all those white blotches... (didn't mean to make that sounds as creepy as it does... haha)

Yeah and I took those pictures in natural light (which makes me look worse) and I can still see it looking better.

And you'll get an actual picture, don't you worry!

So I thought I would tell you guys how I'm doing the regimen. I don't follow dans instructions because I personally don't like how he does it. The skin around my mouth, under my jaw and on the far sides of my cheeks by my ears were so dry. The rest of my skin was pretty dry and my forehead was even more dry and looked leathery. I moisturized twice a day even though I was only doing the regimen at night, It didn't make a difference. It actually hurt to smile or chew food because of the dryness. So I stopped doing the regimen the way dan says to last friday. And I stopped using BP for 2 days and moisturized a lot to get my skin back to normal.

Moisturizer is meant to be put on right after a shower, thats how its always been. If you get dry skin you need the trap the moisture you get from your shower no more than 10 minutes after you pat your face dry. My face did not like waiting 10 minutes, then putting on BP, waiting another 15 minutes then putting on moisturizer. The moisturizer was making me yellow BECAUSE it wouldnt absorb properly.

Since Sunday I've been doing the regimen this way:

I take my shower
get out, dry off & get dressed.
(I dont open the door to let the steam out, the dry air will only take away the moisture faster)
After I'm dressed I combine 2-3 pumps moisturizer, 1-1 1/2 pumps BP and about 6 drops of jojoba oil all together in a little dish and mix it for about 45 seconds.

Then I apply it just as Dan says.

It's been about 5 days and my skin feels so much better. I'm not yellow, my skin isn't dry. And when I take my showers the dead skin just falls right off. I'm not saying everyone should do it this way, but for my skin this is a lot better. Plus it's a lot less time consuming.

I still think dans moisturizer makes me look too greasy though. So I'm taking a cab or the bus to some stores later so I can find somthing else

Well in my last set of pictures the white blob covering my eyes/nose/mouth looks like a d*ck!
and that's not okay lol.

not much change except a couple very small spots and this one PIH spot by the end of my eyebrow (closest to my ear) that turned into a pimple and came to a head.. which was kind of odd. I still haven't found a new moisturizer yet. Ill probably go shopping tomorrow so I'll try to find one then.

I haven't really thought or even cared about my skin too much these past few days..
It's kind of nice.

i hate when the red marks turn into pimples! ugh, it's so strange/frustrating. i have one on my cheek that keeps dying and coming back to life over and over haha. i'm excited to hear if your skin is adapting well to your new&improved DKR (mixing all of the products).. let us know if you get a breakout/notice anything different about your skin!

2 Weeks

Not much to say. My camera does make the red marks stand out a little bit more but they're still really noticeable. I think I'm going to order AHA next week and start using it right after I finish my fourth week. I am getting some whiteheads in the lower middle of my forehead so if those don't go away after a month or two I'm just going to have a derm extract them. But since I can barely see them I'll just try adding a little more BP to that area and leave it alone for now.

So the one PIH spot that turned into a pimple is gone and the same thing happened to one on my chin and that one is almost completely scabbed up and gone too.

I noticed a hard spot on my cheek close to my mouth the other day so I left it alone and it ended up coming to a head a couple days later so I popped it. It just popped though, no broken skin or anything like that.

Only real thing that might be active is this spot right between my eyebrows. and this really small spot on the side of my nose.

That's pretty much it, I don't really care too much though. I've just kind of stopped giving a shit what my skin looks like. Kind of pointless to care about something that isn't really that big of a deal. Am I still self-conscious about it? Of course, and I'm going to stay on the regimen. But as far as worrying about what other people think? Not really my concern.

3 Weeks

So I've been on the regimen for three weeks. You can see in my pictures that I got two new pimples (one on each cheek). It doesn't bother me too much, I've been getting less and less spots since I started the regimen and only a couple pimples is a huge improvement. There is a little bit of redness between my eyebrows. That's because I poked and squeezed out some bulging whiteheads. I did this yesterday though so the little bit of redness should go away soon. It feels pretty good to have those out though even if they left a little redness and there was no bleeding or broken skin so it's not like it will leave a mark.

Other than that the PIH that I have has been getting better and better. I think it's because my skin is shedding a lot more when it's on BP.

I saw a post about the iPhone camera making people look like shit. I guess the camera can pick up things that the human eye can't see. Which makes me feel better because I thought that the camera is what my skin actually looked like.. which would be bad..

Anyway that pretty much sums up my week, here are some pictures. The bathroom lighting and the different angles for each section of my face makes my chin look more tan and my forehead more pale. My skin is not actually three different shades.

Thanks guys. Yeah I'll probably get around to ordering the AHA soon. I'm going to wait until I have the money to order another cleanser too. I still have over a half bottle but I'd rather save on shipping.

As far as my skin goes, couple spots and bunch of PIH as always. I've gone out with people a lot this week though and didn't even think about my skin once. Life is actually quite good for a change. And I'm writing a lot too.. so good for me.

nahh, I ditched that whole idea already lol.

4 Weeks

It will be a full month this Wednesday that I've been on the regimen. Not much to update, some small spots here and there. My skin has been getting really dry so I think I'm going to go one more week with a full pump of BP and then bring it down to a half pump. I started taking more vitamins a couple weeks ago, D-3, A, Zinc, and calcium. I plan on getting some B-5 too since I hear it's good for acne and healing wounds.

No I ended up breaking out really bad and decided to stop dkr.
I was getting sick of putting stuff on my face anyway.

I got an accutane script from my derm and started it a couple weeks ago. I talked her into 40mg twice a day to make sure it works the first time around. I think the IB has started to kick in and its been a pain in the ass the last few days, but my skin texture/tone looks like it has increased 100% since I started.

really looking forward to clear skin in a few months smile.gif

You should have stuck out the 3 month imo. I had pretty clear skin 5 weeks in, then BOOM, a big breakout. I was pretty upset, but after 2 months things started to improve drastically. Hopefully your skin gets clear on accutane, but if not i hope that you'll give the regimen a real shot.

Maybe, but so far I've noticed everything coming to the surface, blackheads and all. everything has been healing 10x faster too and PIH looks like its healing faster than usual.

If it doesn't work I will probably just keep washing my face with water, the regimen could have worked for me but to be honest I was getting so sick of doing it. I'm pretty confident that I'll be 100% clear for 2012 thanks to accutane.

so quck update:

still on accutane, skin is looking better but i still get a few spots here and there. 95% of the deep blackheads that were deep under my skin surfaced and are gone. my dose is getting upped one more time in a few weeks and then i'm sticking with that dose until i'm done. (november)

i get a feeling not every single tiny blackhead will surface by the time i finish, but there arent many they don't even bother me anymore so it's no big deal.

im expecting another breakout when i up my dose again, they seem to start a few days after the dosage increase and take a few weeks to fully go away. but after that it should be smooth sailing.
