Okay, my skin has always been up and down. I used to be on Dianette and my skin went really clear, but had to come off it as it was making me depressed. For the first few months, my skin still was spot-free, but now it's flared up terribly.

So I'm taking one lymecycline a day (in the morning), plus I'm on Yasmin, another type of birth control. I started these yesterday.

On top of this, I'm starting the regimen today.

So this is day one. I've washed with E45 gentle wash, used BP 2.5% in a small dose all over my face, and used Dermalogica Active Moist to hydrate.

I'm a 23-year-old girl with mild-moderate acne, and I'm desperate to clear it, especially with the sort of job I have... I hope to be clear, and ditching heavy foundation for tinted moisturiser by summer.

Anyway, I've just followed the regimen for the first time this evening, and I'm getting a bit of tingling right now. I hope this is normal? Terrified I'm going to come up in a massive rash in the morning.

Wish me luck please smile.gif

good luck with the regimen! make sure you start very slowly since you have a job, because your face WILL be very red during the first week or so. make sure your products are non-comedogenic and that you use a good moisturizer to take care of the flakes. you might find it hard to apply makeup for the first couple of weeks (idk if that's an issue for you?) .. what kind of job do you have? you should post pictures so you can track your progress, it's really fun to see the improvement after a few months smile.gif

ps yes the tingling is normal, as well as a slight burning sensation when you apply your moisturizer. if it is too intense, reduce the BP.

You have taken very similar things to me.

I was on Dianette for a year which was great for me too. I came off it as it was really messing with my moods. I then also used lymecyclin for two months whilst on the regimen. I am not coming off it I believe BP is doing the work tbh.

Best of luck! smile.gif

Thanks guys smile.gif

How long have you both been on the regimen, and do you think it's helping? Although I did see a very slight improvement in my skin this morning, I still can't help but be skeptical about putting such a harsh product all over my face. I've decided to only do it evenings, and in the mornings I'm just cleansing and moisturising.

I just really want clear skin now, because this is making my life miserable! Could really do with reassurance about the regimen if anybody has any? I can already feel myself starting to doubt it!

I have been on the regimen for 2 months now. You can check out my log in my signature. I have definitely had ups and downs. Do expect itching, redness, peeling and a dry face but this is all normal expectations of the regimen, it does subside. I would definitely recommend in investing in jojoba oil and Dan's BP is much better than PanOxyl that I was using. I am going into Month 3 now and really just revising what I have done in the last two months as I suffered a little breakout recently. But I am trying to stay strong and keep going as I believe I am definitely getting somewhere touch wood. I hope to really to start staying clear this month.

Good luck, any help do ask smile.gif

Thanks for your replies squares. Would you say your skin is clearer than it was when you first started?

I've done two night of the regimen, and after the first day I was pretty happy, but by the end of today, my face looked a total wrecked. It's like all the big spots I had have shrunk, but they've also turned into dry scabs, and they look awful. Plus, instead of having one cyst, the cyst has split up into 3 tiny under the skin bumps instead. I guess this is a good thing? But I am HATING the under the skin bumps. I think they look the worst.

I have to say, I have seen improvements on my chin, and that's made me pretty happy, but my cheeks are just awful and so painful. So slight confession: I squeezed them earlier, not until they bled, but just to get some gunk out (sorry, this is gross). I then put the BP over the top. Is that really bad?

Just detesting these little clusters of spots. Anybody reading this, could you please tell me, are you ACTUALLY seeing good results from this regimen? I feel hopeless sad.gif

Okay, three days in. My spots are looking pretty red today, but they're also a lot smoother and flatter. One really stubborn cyst has just vanished, which is nice. No new spots have appeared, but still getting those little clusters of tiny bumps, which is pretty annoying. I'm desperate for those to disappear! Plus, on my right cheek I have a really sore cyst (the only one I have). Hoping that goes away in a few days.

Is anyone else dealing with clusters of tiny spots, and if so, how are you dealing with them?

Thanks guys!

I would definitely say I have seen improvements from before. If it wasn't for this breakout I had I would be estatic lol tongue.gif But saying that the breakout has got worse down to myself because I picked.

As I started Month 3 yesterday any type of picking is off limits no matter how much the pustule looks like it needs to go. As believe me when I say this... IT SLOWS DOWN your progress. I had 2 spots which have now turned to 5 in one area of my face and the rest is clear minus some red marks which are fading. The same used to happen on my forehead. The forehead was the only area that wasn't healing. I put it down to shampoo and picking, I changed shampoos and stopped picking and my forehead is MUCH better, so don't pick!!!! I never even used to I dont know why i thought it was a good idea! Putting BP on top is good, as it stops any acne bacteria from spreading but really try to keep away from picking/prodding and touching.

What I do when I feel down is go through other peoples successful logs. Just browse through youll find some great logs smile.gif

Really doubting the regimen now. My face was so dry when I woke up this morning that I've had to cancel all my weekend plans. I just cried my eyes out because the flaky skin looks even worse than the acne. It hurts to even smile, and I'm so red and sore sad.gif

I hate spots, and I was happy to see some of the bumps on my chin start to clear, but honestly, with all this dry skin, I can't even put makeup on. So I'm worse off. Surely this can't be promoting healthy skin?

Wonder if I should just take a simpler approach of cleansing and moisturising while I wait for anti-biotics to do their work. They should take about 4 weeks, right? Squares, do you find the lymecycline helping you at all?

All of this is normal. I put up with the dry, cracked sun burnt face. It does go away. Believe me time FLIES. I am on 60 days and lol I can't believe how quick it flew by. It is fine to have your doubts but if you give up I am afraid you won't recieve the great results a lot of people have and I hope to!!! Seriously it does work! Just keep going! I know it is hard, but short term loss, long term gain!!!! Have a think if the regimen is for you, but I really recommend it smile.gif

I stopped wearing make up, I haven't worn make up for 2 months, I have recently purchased an acne friendly tinted moisturiser for the Summer and on the look for a good concealer but I refuse to go back to make up days. I used to wear a mineral foundation, blush etc, but I want to save this just for special occasions.

I believe the BP did/is doing all the work and I have stopped taking the antibiotics for a week now as they have come to an end. I was prescribed them for 2 months and that is up now. Which I am happy about as I don't really want to be taking anything orally anymore.

Chin up hun:) xxx
