Hi guys!
I thought id share my experience with you all.
I started to develop acne around the age of 13. Funnily enough it has never really affected my face. I get it on my chest and back.
I tried so many things as a young teenager (now 27) and nothing worked... Except sun but there is little here in UK and I try and avoid sunbeds if possible.
I was eventually put on accutane and has one lot of treatment which cleared me up brilliantly. However, I now suffer from inflammatory bowel disease (although this has for better) as a result.
My acne returned after accutane but never as bad a it was so they wouldn't put me back on it. I took Dianette for few years which was great although I was never completely clear. Doctor said I shouldn't be on it for that long so changed my birth control to cilest. This was fine but over the last year I have been getting bad migranes.
My acne has been controllable although ha had a negative mental effect on me in a big way. I HATE it more than anything and wish for clear skin. My happiest days are when I'm clear and can wear strapless tops etc.
I decided to come off the pill due to the migraines and I am due to get married in November. After that I want to try for children. The headaches were awful so 6 weeks ago I came of the pill.
About 2 week ago my acne flared up... As bad as the worst times all those years ago. I am gutted.
I bought a strapless wedding dress as it was under control and now I am so scared that I will be covered in spots on my wedding day.
I went to the GP and was prescribed tetralysal 300. I was told to take one a day but am taking two after ready posts on here. I'm also using BP 2.5%.
It's day 4 and so far so good. I think that is mainly due to the BP at the moment but I really hope the antibiotics work. I am trying to just drink water and green tea in an attempt to help my skin and cutting back on dairy and fatty foods. Fruit and veg and salmon etc is what I'm trying to keep eating.
I will keep everyone posted but any advice would be appreciated. I want to be clear for the wedding and honeymoon and will do ANYTHING. Not sure if I will be prescribed accutane again but if these antibiotics fail I will ask.
Are these strong anti biotics? Is there anything better that I could request?
Many thanks x

has some actual advantageous antimicrobial properties, abnormally in alleviative burns. However its continued appellation assurance for added use has not been established. I would not be absorbed to acclaim it as it tends to body up in the tissues like added abundant metals (such as advance for example). Common faculty suggests that this should be abhorred as abundant as possible.
Grapefruit is absolutely a citrus fruit. Please don’t abash grapefruit with the bake-apple of the grapevine. Grapes are bake-apple but not grapefruit! This can be absolutely ambagious to anyone alien with this fruit .
The wikipedia site, while absolutely advantageous and as absorbing as it ability be educational, is not absolutely an accurate antecedent of information. The advancement that the alone antimicrobial action in all commercially accessible GSE comes from added bactericide is acutely nonsense. Perhaps it was accounting by addition addicted of biologic companies.
Thanks for your ascribe UnRefined.

I'm currently on doxycyline, not your antibiotic specifically (though they are both tetracyclines), but I do know this: there is a chance that antibiotics taken long term can cause intestinal issues. Since it appears you already have an issue like this, I highly suggest that you DO NOT DOUBLE YOUR DOSE. Your doctor gave you that dosage for a reason. S/he knows how these medicines work better than you do. This is a very broad antibiotic. Increasing your dose may increase the results or speed them up, but you also run the risk of harming other parts of your body. Follow the instructions that have been given to you!
Keep up with the BP if your doctor allows it. I'm currently using BP with an antibiotic under my doctor's orders and it's working quite well.
Hopefully your most recent flare-up is due to you no longer taking the birth control. I've heard of this happening, so you might want to go talk to people in the BC forums. I think this type of flare-up eventually calms down but I could be wrong.
Good luck!
