Well after suffering from acne since I was about 13/14, and 2 courses of accutane it looks like I have finally found the cause of my acne...

I forget how I even stumbled upon Vitamin D and it clearing acne, but i found some info on it and began researching it extensively and saw many people who started supplementing with vit D said their acne cleared...there was also a research paper done by a dermatologist in the 1930's where he treated acne patients with 10,000-15,000 UI of Vit D a day and 70% were cured after 3 months.

Since vitamin D is a HORMONE, it totally makes sense....

I started taking 3000 UI of vit d a day last tuesday and i havnt gotten a new pimple since...i am now doing 4000Ui a day and my skin is noticeably less oily.

I hope others will see this and hopefully work for them and avoid having to endure as much pain and suffering as i had to!

I am ecstatic and its a shame that the power of this vitamin to cure acne is not more known.

Do you take this all at once or through out the course of the day? Do you take it with any certain foods? In the morning? At night? Thanks!

After styaing clear with zinc for 3 months my acne is back.
I have started takin D3. I didn't notice any considerable effect.
The very first day my face turned so dry i thought of applying oil on my skin. But then it again turned oily and i am still gettin acne.
So i m confused what should I do.
I am also taking 50 mg zinc daily. and neem tablets from himalayas.
Hope inside me is dying.

I take it all at once and with a big fatty meal since D3 is fat soluble. Time of the day shouldnt matter but I take it at dinner.

Hey, try upping your dosage and don't expect results right off the bat...the study done by the derm in the 1930's which i referenced, showed that some patients didnt see results for a few months. The vit D may need time to build up in your blood if you are deficient.

we appreciate your effort, but this is a weak argument. on a better note here is a study regarding vitamin d and acne to support your argument a little better.

http://www.nature.com/jid/journal/v128/n7/full/5701235a.html

and here is a thread from this forum where a guy supposedly cured his acne with vitamin a&d

good luck.

my thoughts on vitamin d, take it in the morning, not close to nighttime, to mimic the natural source from the sun. i started taking it at night and it was messing with my sleep, you might have a similar reaction.

7000IU daily? Too much!
You should take no more than 4000IU.
If you want to stay over 4000 you have to check up your calcemia every 3 months...
