so i've been on yaz for like 7 months now..it hasn't made my skin worse but it seems to be working reallyyy slowly. yaz and spiro are both similar cause they both have the same active ingredient. but on the yaz packet, it says there's only 3mg of the drospirenone. so really..i've only been taking 3mgs of 'spiro' a day. while there are people who are taking 25, 50, or 100mgs of spironolactone a day. so im guessing people see better results on spiro cause there are much more mgs in it, right?
do you think adding spironolactone will help in getting better results?
my main problems are my cheeks..i still have red bumps on my right cheek that are papules. my forehead and nose are clear. my chin is pretty clear..although i sometimes get a pimple or 2 around that time of month but then they're gone in a couple days. and i've stopped getting painful cysts on my chin too. do you think spiro will be helpful in getting rid of the papules on my cheeks?

im pretty sure mine is hormonal..i just can't seem to get rid of these red bumps i got during a breakout caused by a different bc i was taking during the summer.
how does spiro work anyways..is it just an androgen blocker? or does it decrease oil production? and how long can you stay on spiro?

Normal serum potassium levels are 3.5-5.0 at the hospital I work at. We usually do not treat hyperkalemia unless > 5.0 and/or symptomatic. Just be careful with drinks with electrolytes (i.e. Potassium) and foods like bananas. And drink plenty of water. Always good to get your chemistry panel at baseline and 1 month after starting spiro and/or yaz. Hope this helps!
