I hope you're feeling a little better today. I guess the trick to this stuff is being super patient, and try to keep your mind busy with other things. I feel like when I worry about Acne 24\7 , its such a waste of life, and life is way too short. Lately I've been thinking and planning all of the fun things I'm going to do with my life when my face is clear, and that cheers me up.
I'm on day 17, and I have a couple of new pimples, but I'm not sure if this is considered the IB. Any pimple is annoying to me, but I do love the texture of my skin.
I hope you stay strong and optimostic! Time will fly by!

Thanks! Yes I've also been thinking of all the great things that will be happening when my skin clears up. I even can't wait til I can wake up on the weekend, lounge around, make beakfast and not immediatley jump out of bed, look in the mirror and obsess over my face for the next half hour.
And you're right, time eally does fly once you start accutane. I start month 3 on April 12th. Almost half way there!

Hey Morgan! Thats great that your initial beakout is aleady starting to clear! You'll be acne free in no time!
My face is very dry and very very red (a combination of accutane and being out in the sun running all the time). People also keep telling me it looks like i've been out in the sun a lot, as if I hadn't noticed
Other than that (knock on wood), I haven't had any new real pimples since Friday. I still have a lot of clogged pores and some healing redmarks. Hopefully things continue to go up from here!

My poor lips are at the breaking point.....literally! They are red, sore, cracked, peeling, you name it. Today I was in pain all day from them. I am putting on chapstick and aquafor about every ten minutes but it is not helping. Does anyone know any other lip products I can try? I'm desperate for relief......
Other than that, I think things are starting to look much better. Several healing red marks and other than that scattered clogged pores thoughout my face. However, my whole face, especially my cheeks, is extremely red. I look like I have a bad sunbun or just recieved a slap on both cheeks.
I've also been feeling somewhat dehydrated. Between accutane and my running addicition, I must remember to drink more water, even when I'm not thirsty.

Dr. Dans Cortibalm! It is for people on this medication. It's a dream. You should look it up on Amazon. I got three tubes for $10.00 which isn't too bad. Good luck <3

well, I've felt extremely sick all afternoon. I'm almost positive it's accutane elated, because I've never had a headache this bad before. It starts in the front of my head and goes all the way to my neck, even my ears are throbbing. I'm wondering if it is a combination of dry eyes, contacts, and just being dehydrated in general. Drank three large glasses of water in the last hour. Hopefully this helps.

I'm feeling much better today. I have to remember to stay hydrated. Between running and accutane my system is so water deprived now. Already had 4 large glasses today!
Good news-no new spots in the last few day, just some healing old ones. I also noticed in the showe today how much smoother my face feels when washing it versus pre-accutane days. Can the IB be over?

Yeah I've drank so much water the last few days! Today I drank a bottle of vitamin water and realized I bought one of the ones with 20% Vitamin A accident.....oops, guess one day of a little extra vitamin A won't hurt though.

My skin is looking pretty similar to how it has looked all week. Spots "seem" to be getting smaller, although whiteheads/clogged pores still popping up here and there. My main issue is a large red mark on my temple from picking. Ugh. Need to stop that. If I had left it alone it would have been gone a long time ago
Side effects minimal today besides dry lips.

And does liquid foundation really clog your pores more than powder foundation? oops. I usually get better coverage out of the liquid type, though. hm.

I'm scared to get a facial. The one time I did, well before accutane, I was left with redmarks for a couple days after. The woman was so rough to my skin. I don't even think I was on retinoids at the time. But good for you and I'm glad it helped your skin.
I'm not sure about the liquid foundation. I hate the feel of it. I know it's psychological but it makes me feel dirty and like i'm clogging my pores. I stick to powder. What kind do you use? I think you're fine as long as what you're using is non-comendenic.

Can't believe it's already day 50! Almost at month 3! Today my cheeks are sooo red! I look like someone slapped me in the face again or have fifth's disease. I did spend a lot of time in the sun this weekend, but I applied sunscreen. Although i'd rather have red skin than horrible acne.
My skin still has mostly small bumps and clogs. I feel like i'm becoming more of a perfectionist as my course continues. Things like small clogged pores that would have never bothered me before my course do now. I guess i'm just impatient to be completely clear! I also have some cyst like thing on my left temple that's been hanging around for about a week. It never fully formed like it would have prior to accutane. However i'm tired of know it's on my face and just want it to go away.
Side-effect wise, felt very tired and achy today. Also had a slight headache that a bottle of water took care of.

thanks for your comments in my log. I'm keeping an eye on yours as well.
Totally unrelated, saw that you were suffering from the dry lips. The lip medex in the blue tin is AWESOME. I used vaseline and aquaphor during my first course and this has been WAY superior. I recommend it.

My skin has not been doing well the last few days.
Hoping month three brings some better results when it begins next week. I see my derm monday and am considering asking to be upped to 80mgs.
Hopefully will update soon with much more postive results!

Accutane is not working. Just want to curl up in a ball and cry. I know it's only day 56 but it's depressing.
Derm appointment tommorow. Will see if that brings any good.

I know i'm nowhere near your 56 day mark but please don't be sad! It's all going to be okay and your skin WILL look amazing. Accutane is a strong drug and time varys among each person. I don't know the clear skin statistics with the medication but i would think that they are very high. Hang in there girl! Good luck <3
