If we eat too much fat, even if it's not saturated fat, is that also bad? I've been eating a lot of almonds and I've been noticing breakouts. I've probably been eating 200% of the fat RDA

Were the almonds roasted or raw?

Almonds do contain Myristic Acid in low amounts that they wouldn't do anything if eaten in small quantities.

Unsaturated fats do not cause Acne. Its impossible. Modified unsaturated fats by roasting nuts can cause Acne because the Bacteria and even our bodies don't know how to use them.

My take is that you ate too many almonds...too much Myristic Acid.

Okay I am not a science graduate and struggled to understand some of what you are saying, but basicly what I can take from this post is, minimise my intake of Lauric Acid and Myristic Acid ?

Correct.

I am not a science graduate even though I can understand science. You can either listen to me or go ask the so called "experts" with a narrow mind that will give you a sincere answer that will make you feel good.

I call BS. This sounds like the quintessential, run-of-the-mill internet "alternative medicinez" stuff.

No offense, but it's just bunk.

You registered just to tell me that?

What I wrote is from scientific studies.

People like you is the reason Cancer started. All you think about is "Cause and cure" instead of just "Prevent". Go put your head back between your legs.

Funny--You didn't write a single link to any medical journal/scientific study in your post.

People like me IS the reason cancer started? surprised.gif

That line is hilarious in about 50 different ways. Congrats.

I wont put it back up, however I'll tell you one thing. Acne is caused by toxicity and deficiency.

Toxicity: red meat, dairy, synthetic chemicals known as pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, detergents, cleaning agents, make up, etc....

Deficiency: Fat soluble vitamins known as vitamin A, D, E, K

Vitamin A, E, K = lettuce

Vitamin D = Sunshine

The greener the lettuce, the more chlorophyll and vitamins it contains. chlorophyll is amazing at cleaning the body of toxins and the best in my opinion of reversing heart disease. Try butterhead or romaine lettuce and see the results yourself.

The typical diet of a model contains lots of greens, fruits, nuts(very high complete protein) and for those models that do eat meat, only eat light meat...chicken and fish. Models never touch dairy, pork or red meat. If you're going to give up meat; look into taking Vitamin B12.

Enjoy.

Totally agree with your summary 2097!!

However, chicken is also loaded with antibiotics, hormones, environmental toxins (i.e. pesticides), and fish contain environmental toxins such as mercury/ heavy metals. Best to go natural, organic, mostly raw food/ nutrient packed/ vegan (with key multivitamin/mineral supplements & natural topicals). Just research how to do this properly (i.e. with extensive research) so you don't miss out on key, VITAL vitamins/ nutrients like:

- B12
- Iodine
- Omega 3
- Complete protein
- Calcium
- Iron (NB women need extra -- but not too much as it accumulates in the body and is highly toxic at high levels -- so only take supplements if your doctor says you're low/ anemic and then only take for a short time in supplement form i.e. 1-3 months max. Best natural form of Iron is spinach and blackstrap molasses or Floravital)
- Folic Acid (at least 500 to 600mcg daily, especially if you're female during reproductive years)
- Vitamin D (preferably from daily sunlight exposure without sunblock at least 1/2hr to 1hour daily)

Cheers, AS smile.gif

aquasea, I agree with you about the chicken, I'm glad you posted it however we cant make people give up meat. Some people still believe we're meant to eat meat. I also posted it because I forgot they used hormones on meat in Canada and USA. Me living in Italy.

I don't believe in taking supplements unless absolutely needed like B12.

Iodine is not needed in supplement unless you live in a desert like texas or iraq where there is no winds and/or if you're inside your house all day and night, ie. no winds. Iodine is in fresh air.

Air-Sea Exchange of Iodine

Calcium & Omega 3 & Iron & folic acid - bananas and raw nuts(not roasted and not salted).

folic acid for pregnant women makes sence.

Vitamin D(natural hormone) increases absorption of all the vitamins and minerals.

I use to think the Complete Protein theory was true; however the complete protein theory is a myth where you have to mix legumes with rice to complete it. Common sense tells me that legumes and all seeds are meant to grow into plants. Anyways, I ate legumes with rice/pasta for a week and started loosing muscle. Did research and found a scientific study that stated that lentils lack nitrogen for complete digestion of the proteins. Both from experience and a scientific study proved the complete protein theory is false. Good enough for me. Nuts are an exception though because its a seed/fruit into one.

This is a great question and can be a very long answer but I will try to keep it short.

It can be many things, I think the stage and type of the acne can prove this.

First,

It's an overgrowth of bad bacteria in the body and when met with sebum oil it spreads and grows and when that occurs inflammation on the skin causes the acne and pimples.

Also, toxins that build up in the body and don't flush out through your digestive system properly will break out of the skin and cause pimples and acne as well.

Hormonal imbalances can cause the levels of oil to be too high which when paired with the bad bacteria will cause the growth and spreading of acne.

It really comes down to controlling the levels of bad bacteria in the body, that's probably the biggest cause of acne at the molecular level if you were to zone in on it.

Then again for everyone it's different, some people have acne that can be caused by more of cosmetic purposes, when you put too many chemicals on your skin they interact and can break out and cause more acne.

So really, everyone is different but for the majority it's an overgrowth of bad bacteria so you need to learn how to get good bacteria in your diet to balance that out as well as include things that kill bad bacteria in your diet etc..

Hope this helps!

David
