The information online is overwhelming.

I know different things work for different people.

However, what would you suggest? What vitamins should I be buying and taking daily?

I have mild acne. Mostly hormonal. Along my chin and around my mouth.

Thanks surprised.gif

Vitamin D.

It's actually a precursor to steroid hormone and most people who don't get sunlight regularly or eat tons of fish are deficient.

I recommend around 1000-2000 IU per day dose. Higher than that gives me alot side effects. It has helped alot with my hormonal chin acne.

You can get basically everything else from a good diet.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have been taking a multi vitamin, but I can't remember how much of what is in it. I'm going to have another look. I've also been taking apple cider pills, but I'm wondering if I would get more benefit by mixing it with water like others do.

Vit D is a good suggestion. Make sure you get D3 and not D2 though.
There is a lot of posts on D3, have a look at the archives for lots of information.

I take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of water with breakfast every morning. This works for me. Also lots of info on this in the archives as well as on the internet.

magnesium, citrate, or any amino acid chelated form.

calcium, from dairy(no supps), or citrate(natural calm), tri/di calcium phosphate(posture d brand) or any amino acid forms.

vitamin d- increases ability to absorb calcium by about 70%, and increases phosphorous and magnesium absorption.

vitamin c500-1000mg

vitamin k, all forms.

its reasonable that everything else is easily obtainable by diet, phosphorous, chloride, potassium, b vitamins, vitamin e tocopherols(tomatoes, spinach, olives)/tocotrienols(wheat, corn barley, brown rice), vit a from beta carotene.

hey ppl, how much vit d to take per day?
is 2000 IU a day ok?

i take mine in liquid form together with tsp of rosehip oil, but i also get 800 IU from multivitamin (which i take with water separately)
so in total it makes ~2800 IU is it too much? :/

i just thought since i take that multivit with water, then maybe vit d in it isnt too absorbed, since its fat not water solluble? :S

go to vitamin d council website. the human body is said to require 4000 iu a day to get all jobs done. of course that is an average for an adult human.

10,000 iu can be taken long term, with no side effects, even with maxed out serum levels, so anything above that you might start to have issues with toxicity. a single dose of 20,000 iu in a day would probably have no ill effect.

those numbers are somewhere in the ballpark i suppose according to evidence in studies.

if any zinc, 15 mg per day. it intereferes with calcium magnesium and copper otherwise.
dairy is a good source of calcium, and yes, it effects acne, and thats why ive listed all the best choices, dairy is among the best choices for calcium.
