*Started Tazorac on Dec. 10, 2010.
*Quit Tazorac on April 9, 2011.

3 days of using tazorac cream every night and 1 minocycline pill in the afternoon:


4 weeks (1 Month) of using tazorac, but ran out of minocycline a week ago. Here's my "initial breakout":


6 weeks of using tazorac and no minocycline:


8 weeks (2 Months) of tazorac and no antibiotics:


10 weeks on tazorac


12 weeks (3 Months) on tazorac


14 weeks of tazorac

^As some of my acne shows improvements, I continue to get breakouts. That's why I've decided to stop using Tazorac and try to cure my acne with a holistic approach. I'm trying new things and I'll let you guys know how things go.




Hopefully you aren't one of those people that were prescribed Tazorac and wanting to see some major results in the amount of time that I've used it.(I was crazy about these types of things 4 months ago.) Major let down if you look at what it has done to me.

A few months far in Differin and those strong whiteheads look very familiar. It took longer for me before they appeared and my IB will probably last longer as differin is milder. Keep us posted, looks like it working perfectly!

My acne changes on like a daily basis. lol.
Like, most, if not all, of those white heads on my most recent photto are all gone and now only the red mark remains. That's my main acne problem, the red marks that never heal after the white head is gone. =[

i am week 10 of using Tazorac gel .01% and so far i still haven't seen an improvement. Hopefully it starts to clear up soon for me :/
From your pictures i can tell your acne is different from mine though so you could possibly see results a lot sooner than me. Everyones skin is different :b

From your picture, it looks like you don't even have acne.

Week 7 just ended yesterday, and my acne started getting a little less red (no one but myself would notice kind of result), but it's back to being crappy and normal. I did eat ceral(with milk), and a lot of candy though.

I'll upload pics next week. Week 8 is supposed to be the improvement week, but I'm having lots of doubts.

How old are you?

Do you honestly think i would have my main picture on here of me with an ugly acne face? haha :b That picture is from like 2 years ago when my skin was MUCH better. Oh and i also edited and used Photoshop before posting it, and with tonss of makeup. ha

& i am 16.

Post some before and after pics. It will make you feel like crap after seeing what you used to look like and what you actually look like, but if it ever does clear up, you can be like, yeah, my skin used to be like that, and look at me now.

hey ive been on tretinoin .05% for 6 weeks also and have had pretty similiar results as in my acne has gotten pretty bad, those ugly whiteheads were hell when i had em but now(like you) i am just dealing with a lot of bad red marks all over my face(my skin resembles yours)... hopefully a month or so from now we will all be able to be like WOW look at our amazing skin:) keep fighting, can only improve from here;)

That's the same mentality I'm having too. "Hopefully a month from now we'll be clear and happy"
But, the tazorac site itself says how if your skin gets worse, it's working. I feel that my skin has gotten so bad, it won't ever heal. :'[ Hopefully I'm wrong, and since both of us are experiencing the same thing, I guess that's a good sign.

I think it's already starting to look better! You can easily pop those whiteheads, you know. Just use a desinfected needle and comedone extractor tool (I have tweezerman) and be gentle.

i really try not to take pics of my acne because it is only discouraging to me, my skin looks a lot like yours. actually right now it looks worse because i really broke out in these last 2 days:(... it really sux and its hard not to pick at the bad ones but if i've survived this long then i can survive another month, any updates for you?

To be honest, I still have the same amount as my recent picture, probably more, but they are starting to get a little less red. I'm not saying it's a HUGE improvement, but it's something that's kinda making feel as if this thing will actually work. I'll upload pics this Friday.

good to see some fellow taz users on here usually when i check its mostly other stuff people are using. well i tried using it a year or so ago cuz i have a blackhead problem not so much pimples but i do get them. but when my derm first gave it to me to try out hes like "ok heres this put it on your nose and cheeks". long story short i didnt use moisturizer and it tore up my face.

now im back on it and using it properly and it definitely is working. keep us posted mate we can all get through this together! lol.

Updated. Things are actually looking positive, but the lighting in my room makes my acne look a lot worse than it actually is.

Looking good, your 2nd picture(i guess your right side) is very impressive. hopefully i will get some results like you have as i am going on my 8th week:)

2 week left until the tazorac site says I should see HUGE improvements, and so far so good. Fingers crossed, I hope by then my face is clear of red marks.

Btw, how is tazorac workin for you eagles? What week are you on? Don't judge it until the end of your 10th week. trust me.

im actually using tretinoin .05 cream but still, supposed to be close to the same thing. going on my 10th week soon and really need some improvement. i mean my red marks look the same as they always have which is discouraging and i am still breaking out, not as bad or as much as before but still. Your picture just saved my hope man:) i really appreciate you posting back and i can only imagine how great your life is right now!! congratz!!!
