I thought I would mention this - as some folks may not know about it (I certainly didn't until a week ago). Vitamin b5 (also known as pantothenic acid) is actually a really good oil stopper! If your problem is excessive oil then Vitamin b5 is something you could try.
There's a review section for vitamin b5 on the acne.org web site. Many people who have posted positive results for it.
My experience with Vitamin b5 is very positive so far. I've only been using it about 5 days now but I can see that for a few hours after each dose, I get significantly reduced oil output (almost none).
On the plus side I don't get any of the nasty side effects I got with Nobiletin (I mentioned in another thread that I may be allergic to Nobiletin).
On the negative side you have to take _a lot_ of vitamin b5. I'm taking 2g each every 3 hours. You should find a cheap source of the pill if you want to get into it (I so love iherb!)
I plan to take vitamin b5 for a few months. My hope is that by stopping oil for such a long period, my sebaceous glands will shrink and lose their ability to produce so much oil. I'm hoping the effect will last for at least 12 months. Time will tell!
If you're interested in one man's opinion about vitamin b5 and acne, look for a paper called "Pantothenic Acid Deficiency as the Pathogenesis of Acne Vulgaris" by "L.H. Leung". It's not the strongest scientific paper I've read (it makes suggestions rather than proving anything) but it's interesting none the less.
