So I've been trying my best as to which surgeon/doctor to go to, to perform laser surgery for my acne scars. I have deep pitted and ice pick scars + red and brown spots and just saying that alone makes me feel disgusting. any stories or success stories in the new york tri-state area would be helpful. Thanks~!

Trust is HUGE for me. If I get a bad vibe from a doctor or feel like he/she is there to milk my money, I'll usually tend to go with my gut and get the hell out of there. My most main focus and interest are the laser treatments such as FRAXEL RE:PAIR and FRAXEL RESTORE DUAL.

All lasers are pure radiation. It will damage your skin further. After laser treatments I now have ice pick, boxcar, rolling and atrophic scars that are permanent. I saw a derm who has prescribed me a 'gel' with diclocan, menthol and camphor in it. The menthol and camphor are to help the diclocan absorb. She also prescribed something for bedtime. It has literally smoothed out my skin, although I still have scars. I still dealing with the damage...mental, emotional as well as physical. Do some research to find a reliable/good dermatologist in your area. I hope you don't make the same mistake I did. Good luck.

I work for a medical spa. I would suggest having a BBL (Broad Band Light) treatment for the red and brown spots. Also having a profractional or micro-laser peel for the acne scars.

Hi Jeffison, so nice of you to share how you feel about those acne scars. But, how are you now? Have they been treated already?
