For the past month or two, the skin on my face and ears has been getting insanely oily insanely quickly. I'm 15, so I know that it's probably largely down to my age and that it may pass in time, but I seriously need something to fix it now. I mean, I look at the other people in my school, and I see no-one with a level of oil on their face even approaching the level of oil I have on mine. My glasses actually slip down my nose, it makes me feel hot, earphones slip right out, people comment, I shine like a searchlight and if I just briefly and lightly touch my finger-tip to anywhere on my face, it becomes visibly shiny and anything I touch becomes coated in smeared grease. And it gets like this very quickly. It isn't like it becomes like this by the end of a school day--within, like, an hour of washing my face, my finger will come back shiny and greasy if I touch it to my face. Today, when I was reading a book, only maybe 6 hours after washing my face, I accidentally very briefly and very lightly touched the tip of my nose to a page, and the grease from my nose actually made the words on the page underneath it completely visible. That is how bad it is. Anyway, I'm sure you get the point by now--I desperately need some kind of solution.

try nobiletin.

you can buy a serum at skinactives.com called t-zone serum. People are reporting reduction in oil with Nobiletin use.

carry around some tissues (not paper towels) and/or blotting papers. DO NOT wash your face more than 2x/day. Try using a mattifyer...i know Murad makes one with SPF 15 in it.

He doesn't actually say anything about having acne (at least, not in this post), so I don't see anything wrong with washing his face more often. As long as he does it reasonably gently, not scrubbing hard enough or often enough to cause irritation, it should be fine.

...Reading your post reminded me of my oily skin issues I had before. Haha that was painful to read. Ok well you've gotta try to fix this before you get a nasty breakout like I did. I mean not that my acne was severe, but it was annoying as hell cause I wasn't doing the right thing. But I'll tell you whats worked for me.

1. I take showers at night.
2. After the shower I wash my face with a tiny bit of honey (its raw organic honey). The shower water is never steamy hot, but mildly warm.
3. I have a moisturizer from Aubrey Organics that's mad for sensitive skin. I apply this on my face with water before I shave. If you're a girl I would use it like its a mask and put on lots of water with it and let it sit for maybe like 20 minutes. You don't want it to completely dry though. Then rinse it off with a tiny bit of water.
4. Well thats it thats all I do. I don't wash my face in the morning, only once a day when I come out of the shower.

This is whats worked for me and my face has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less oilier. I think whats done is only washing the face once a day with a gentle cleanser. Cause you should use the sebum you have on your face as a moisturizer. If my face gets oily after the shower I blot with a some facial tissues.

Hope this helps. And I mean it could be just the weather.

As I've pointed out sooooo many times in the past, sebum doesn't act as a moisturizer to any measurable degree.
