For anyone that hoped to come here for clay mask tips,I will gladly give you some.
Get pure, dry clay. Aztec Healing clay is by far my favorite. They come in huge tubs for 5 bucks. It's 100% calcium bentonite. It's best dissolved in apple cider vinegar,so you're also being exfoliated at the same time!
You can buy other various pure, dry clays too off the internet. Pink clay, you name it.
You can customize it by putting in peppermint leaves, tea tree oil,honey...let your imagination run wild.
You know exactly what is being put into the product and you can tailor it to whatever your heart desires.
You can find tons of stores online that sell these things. Here's one to get you started. http://www.washbasinwonders.com/v-web/ecom...lay-powder.html

Nothing beats powdered oatmeal and turmeric, imho. Maybe moistened with blended cucumber, instead of water.

I've been meaning to try something of the sort. I really like using Turmeric on my face. I was thinking of moistening it with onion and a tiny sliver of garlic.Hmmm! What shall I do?

You know I'm Mr. Skeptic, but turmeric is my secret weapon. It just works. Combined with oatmeal, in just murders any inflammation on your face.
Edit: annoyingly messy though..
Don't get me wrong, i LOVE onion and garlic, but I'd never put it on my face.. the latter has been implicated in actual chemical burns (from people using it to kill ringworm).

Do NOT use garlic on your face. You can seriously burn it.
Little known secret: you can use garlic to remove moles. It literally dries them out and after a few days it just flakes off, but the skin around it is always really red and enflamed and looks almost like a pretty bad sunburn.

I would have thought the pre-powdered stuff wouldn't be as effective?

I use powdered, from Indian grocery stores. Looking at the prices at american supermarkets makes me cry/laugh. The turnover is so much higher in Indian/Asian grocery stores as well, so the product always seems to be more fresh and brightly colored.
The stuff is so potent that I don't think it matters whether you use fresh or dried turmeric. FWIW, dried turmeric is whats been used across the sub-continent for hundreds of years.. i've never even seen a recipe with fresh turmeric. The purported main active chemical, curcumin, is totally stable and unchanged by drying. It isn't extremely light stable, however - UV light will slowly fade away turmeric stained fabric.
