moisturizer that keeps my face shine free ALL day

but a few months ago while at sephora i found a moisturizer that seriously seemed heaven sent! oil control moisturizer by murad. my mom forced me to buy it and try it, even though i was convinced that nothing would ever help. but after the first few days of using it, i was in shock, the shine was GONE. it didn't clog my pores or anything either. make up or no make up it keeps my skin healthy, not dried out but not oily. it also has spf 15 for protection. i don't know anyone else who's ever tried it, but i thought if it worked for me, it might help someone else with the same problem. if you happen to try it/have tried it i'd like to know how it worked for you. goodluck ~

I hate my oily skin. If I don't use any topical treatments or moisturizers, I barely have any oil on my face, but then I get bad acne and my skin looks like crap. I think I need a new moisturizer. I want to try that Murad Mattifier, but it's way too expensive for me. Does anybody have any suggestions for a moisturizer? I've been using Dan's new formula, but I think I need to try a new one.

i know it seems expensive, but it seriously lasts FOREVER and is worth it. what kind of skin do you have though? because mine is a combination of dry AND oily (lucky me, right?) and when i don't use a moisturizer it actually makes my skin wwaayyy worse, because if your skin thinks that its too dry, it'll try to overcompensate and even things out by releasing oil, which usually just makes things messier than they were to begin with. just try to avoid using harsh cleaners or rubbing alcohol or anything like those that will irritate and inflame things. if you want a cheaper moisturizer you can always go to your local drug store like CVS and browse their selection. wish i could be more help to you, goodluck finding something that helps.

This is a myth.
Skin does NOT overcompensate by making more oil when dry.
Sebaceous glands do not work like that.

I have the same skin type as you, and yes, if I don't use a moisturizer, my skin gets really bad. How much of the Mattifier do you put on?
Also, I wouldn't post anything about dry skin making oily skin worse. All you'll do is attract Bryan and DC, who only post condescending replies about how a 1958 study "confirmed" that it's not true (because that study is only 52 years old. It MUST be true.) They may be right, but when 99% of your posts are snobby comments about how much smarter you are than everybody else, you really shouldn't be posting anymore.
^ Oh, looks like I'm too late.

i would say i put like a pea sized amount on each cheek, my forehead, and my neck. probably less, a little really goes a long way.
and sorry for giving wrong information i guess.. but either way i think that moisturizer is still better than no moisturizer. drying out our skin isn't the best idea, whether it makes you more oily or not.
