EDIT!

Some posts have been deleted. I used the regimen daily from december to april and was 99% clear, then started playing around with it and started breaking out again. I quit the regimen, then would start a week later, quit again, etc etc. All in all, my face is a mess. As of July 31 I have restarted the regimen and plan on doing it religiously 2x a day until I am clear again. Follow my progress! New posts start on page 6 smile.gif Peeeace.

I started pretty fast on it, I went straight to 1 pump because i felt anything less wouldn't be able to cover all the problem areas, I did though go red for a a good solid 3-4 days and it's since died down on the redness, I just look slightly tan now which doesn't bother me one bit since i'm usually pasty white haha. Everyone's got different tolerance and no one has the same face size so I think you have to use your best judgement when it comes to how much to apply. Generally I think as long as you can cover all problem area and still keep it very thin for the 1st while then you should be good.

CALLING ALL LADIES!

I recently discovered (way too late) the whole comedogenic/non-comedogenic thing. Now, I refuse to put ANYTHING on my face that has any comedogenic ingredients (well, sometimes it's impossible) including facewash, moisturizer, shampoo, (i've yet to find a conditioner) and makeup! So last night I went out to Shopper's and bought a bunch of new makeup. I haven't googled all of the ingredients yet but they all claim to be non-comedogenic. Has anyone ever used these?
- GOSH velvet touch foundation primer
- GOSH lift me up! foundation
- Maybelline mineral powder concealer w/ micro minerals (it's liquid)
- Annabelle mineral power foundation
- Annabelle mineral powder bronzer
- Annabelle mineral powder blush

Kinda scared to put all this stuff on my face, I used to be a religious makeup wearer back in the pre-acne days and I've laid off the stuff a lotttt except when I need to go out because it makes my skin feel really gross.. But then again I was using comedogenic makeup. I'm kinda worried this will look cakey and nasty on top of the BP? But with xmas coming up.. picturespicturespictures sad.gif anyways, any insight would be muchhh apreciated! Thanks ladies smile.gif

No problem. (: No, I'm actually not on the regimen. If my acne ever gets to the point where I feel it is severe enough to put myself through the Regimen then I will. But good luck on yours!

Oh and regarding your makeup question, I've never tryed any Anabelle or GOSH products but I do use the Maybelline concealer and it personally doesn't break me out. I guess the only way for you to know is to try them yourself. Good luck, keep your log updated! smile.gif

Ugghh, GOSH products are no good. Gonna try the Almay Nearly Naked, as it claims to be non-comedogenic. I feel like I'm making good progress hence the fear of putting anything comedogenic on my face sad.gif .. If I had money I'd try out the Bobbi Brown foundation!

I'd suggest trying other Maybelline products. Since you like the concealer. They have a nice mineral powder foundation and they have liquids and a mousse too. I've heard of others having good results with their powder foundation. I personally use their Dream Matte Powder and I love it.

good luck with dans regime ! .. in the past when i was 16 dans regime felt really good and i started with probably the same ammount as you that my skin got too dry and i think the dryness and irritation caused more pimples :S

but yeah if you still need opinion on how much you should use, watch dans video on youtube. He starts off with the smallest application then increases when his skin gets the hang of BP. MAybe that was the mistake i made while on dans regime.

anyways MERRY CHRISTMAS + happy new years.. although it wont be so great for us with annoying pimples but on the positive "you gotta lose to know the feeling of winning ? LOL..so once we beat this speedbump itll be very very hectik. As for people that have clear skin their whole lives.. they would never understand. soooo lets make 2011 ours (:

Great improvements in four days! I finally had the courage to start using products with BP, and honestly it's one of the greatest things that I've ever used for my acne. To counteract the drying effects, especially if you have sensitive skin like me, make sure to do some heavier moisturizing in the pm time (Dan recommends adding jojoba oil to the moisturizer, jojoba is great because it mimics the skin's own lipids very closely and can also make your skin stop overproducing oil if that's a problem). It can be hard to resist the urge to pick and scratch, but this really helps reduce the redness and healing time. You look very happy in your pictures too, and it shows in your posts as well, and that's one of the most important things on the road to clearer skin! Keep it up biggrin.gif

DAY 6

Hi lovely people (btw I'm so impressed with how friendly and comforting people on this site are.. wow, only wish real life was like this!) Had a rough morning waking up with a bunch more pimples and dead ones that became active again :@ so frustrating.. but can't give up i refuuusee! I figure it's because I started way too fast with the BP, i haaate the Panoxyl sad.gif can't wait to get Dan's in the mail! So since yesterday I've been using a bit more then pea-size and mixing it with about 1/2 teaspoon of water and it makes a HUGE difference! I can now glide it easily all over my face and I don't have to use a whole sh*t ton smile.gif My skin is FLAKE CITY, dry as hell, super tight but not so red anymore! I hope my stubborn sensitive skin starts being bestfriends with the BP soon..

On another note, I've been working out tons lately which is suuuper unsual for me.. Acne destroyed my face but has done wonders for my body lmao, in august when the acne got bad I weighed 160, and I've lost 15 pounds since then. It's funny because my weight used to be a big issue (I was never overweight persay, but my highest was 178) and I've been struggling for years, yo-yo dieting, always focusing on my weight.. and then acne came, and THAT became my biggest issue. It's the only time I've actually stuck to a diet (cholesterol free, basically fat and sugar free, no white flour, etc, in hopes to reduce the acne) because of how much this is affecting my self-esteem, I'd eat celery everyday if it meant I could have a clear face lol.. So with all of the changes in my diet, the weight just slid right off and I didn't even notice because I've been so busy focusing on my acne. It makes me laugh, really... Weight is such a stupid issue, it's so easy to control.. Acne on the other hand! FFF UUUU!

Also, grabbed some scissors last night and went chop-crazy on my bangs in order to make the hairloss (it's starting to look like my hairline is receiding sad.gif ) from the accutane (i think? or maybe it was from the pregnancy hormones, or getting on and off and on and off birthcontrol..) less noticeable! it worked smile.gif they're pretty cute, i find. I will take new pictures Christmas morning to show my (not so much) progress! You guys make my day xox

hey there,
keep going, you're doing well!
as for make up i just bought Vichy Aera Teint Pure Fluid Foundation http://www.makeupalley.com/product/showrev...ar/Vichy/Liquid

anyway, it's made in france, you can find it in Shoppers Drug Mart for $27. I don't wear makeup, but I was thinking about NYE makeup so I wanted to test it out. I tried it recently and it looks super natural, medium coverage and don't need a lot. They have two types, one's for dry skin, the other's for normal to oily skin. I bought the latter option, strange enough it dried up all the oil I had on my face that I use to hydrate... through the evening my face was feeling really dry. I have a sample of their tinted sunscreen that I will try next and will keep you posted!

I'm more of a Jane Iredale Mineral powder foundation girl, but I recently had a bad customer service experience from their headquarter so I'm boycotting them. haha.. but yah, I used Jane Iredale for years without problems, major coverage and never needed foundation. They are about $60 from highend spas.

Hope this helps! Cheers x

What's up people! I decided I was gonna keep up with this log so I can track my progress.

Here are some pictures from day 1 and from christmas day (almost 2 weeks in). I will post new pictures tomorrow.

christmas day, you can see how irritated the bottom half of my face was.

december 26 morning, dry cityyy

I'm now at 1 month and 9 days, the dryness and flakiness is out of control. I'd say that my actives went down about 80% (which is awesome) but makes my scars stand out.. Here's to hoping they fade eventually! cheers

How long did it take for your skin to stop flaking/being extremely dry? (using 2 pumps of bp)

I started out using the 8 oz tube, because I didn't want to invest a bunch of money into something that wasn't going to work for me, and I used a pretty thick fingerlength. My skin started getting super flaky and dry, so I cut back to a very thin fingerlength for awhile, made sure to use 2-3 pumps of moisturizer (it takes longer to absorb, but it's worth it) and when I used foundation, I used a tinted moisturizer. All of that really seemed to help.

I've since upgraded to the 16 oz bottles, and I only use two full pumps (the directions say 3--I say there's no way!). I haven't experienced too much flakiness, but I've also used the AHA at night (when you get past the fourth week, it's definitely a good investment--my skin is super smooth in just a little over a week of using it) and the tinted moisturizer during the day. It just takes some time before your skin gets acclimated, and you sometimes have to rough it through the dry spells.

Hey, you got any recent pics? You haven't posted any since December. I'd just like to see how your going with it smile.gif hope your okay. Acne really does suck. I've had it for 4 years since I was 13. It completely kills my confidence. Can't wait to get rid of it tongue.gif
