I started taking a few different vitamins a couple of weeks ago to help with my acne, and wanted to know how long it'd be until I can expect to see results.

These are the vitamins I'm taking everyday:

Vitamin A (10,000)
Vitamin C (500)
Vitamin D3 (1000)
Vitamin E (400)
Fish Oil (Two tablets a day, I don't remember what the amount is)

Everyday I get around 2-3 small white heads/papules (Don't know the exact term, just something tiny with a head that you can pop with a needle), sometimes I'll get some medium-sized ones, but luckily no huge breakouts with like 10-15 of them. I haven't really seen an improvement in my acne thusfar, the vitamins might be improving my hideous red marks that cover my entire face, but I don't know if it's helping my actual acne. I do remember that the first two days I took the vitamins, I didn't get ANY new acne, not sure if that was just a coincidence or what.

In addition to taking vitamins, I'm also applying Apple Cider Vinegar and Cetaphil Moisturizer to my face 2-3 times a day. I also take an Apple Cider Vinegar tablet once a day, and try to drink as much water as possible and to not consume much sugar.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd bump up the D3 to 5,000 and take 400mg of Magnesium. I also take twice the A amount you're taking. I slowly added the vitamins one at a time, so... it took me around a month to see results. I also dramatically changed my diet and added Dan's regimen at the same time.

I am wondering the same thing. I have been taking several vitamins that many people have said worked for about a week and if anything, its getting worse. Does it get worse before it gets better? I have moderate cystic acne (I'm in my 20's), which is halfway controlled with proactiv, but lately it's only working on small whiteheads/pimples and the cysts are back with a vengeance, so I added the vitamins...
I started taking...
Alive Women's Energy
plus....
Beta Carotene 25000 iu
Vit C 1000 mg
D3 2000 iu (I tried taking 4000 iu of this and I'm pretty sure it made my heart race at night! beware!)
Vit E 400 iu
Green Tea extract 150 mg
Acai 1000mg
Fish oil 2000 mg
Has anyone had any luck with vitamins?

I think it depends on what you are eating and how toxic your body was prior to taking the vitamins.

Everyone is different. Be patient and stay with the course.

Have you consulted your doctor about this?

Anyway...

I would lower your intake of Vitamin A to > 6000 IU (more isn't always better)
My Vitamin D3 intake is at 2000 IU, which is at around the minimum recommended by harvard I believe
I would also drop the Vitamin E. The whole Vitamine E is an antioxidant and how it's good for you is a fad. It's only good as a moisturizer on your face.

Your Vitamin A intake should be > 6000 IU a day or the D3 is not going to be as effective...usually fish oils are high in Vitamin A and lower in Vitamin D3

Make sure to eat food with lots of Magnesium and Zinc. Don't take supplements.
Real food > everything else.

My Doctor, prescribed antibiotics that made me pretty sick and didn't have time to talk with me about other options. I am hoping to take a more natural approach. Thanks for the great info!
