Got my period yesterday WITHOUT ANY PAIN AT ALL. No bloating whatsoever. No cramping. No blocking or big clots (TMI I know). But seriously guys, I used to think i didn't have bad PMS at all, but my God with spiro, I have literally none! everything is running so smooth without any pain. I am on my second day. I didn't even know yesterday that I was getting my period, huh!

@ Hopeful. I'm so glad spiro is working for you. I hope it works for the rest of us. Hey, I was having an alarming rate of hair fall before starting spiro, but now it isn't that bad. I had been depressed for a long time. I cant see how spiro would cause hair loss but again it might. I have read that sometimes because of stress or just for no reason, our hair goes through a period of telegene effluvium* I think thats what you call it. I have no clue if I spelled it right. It usually stops on its own. It can stay for 6 months or so. Just take care of your diet and supplement with vitamins.
Thanks asar, what you said makes sense bc I was down right depressed when my face started to scar, that could be the problem, major stress! Thanks, I feel better about this whole thing!

Wicky, I myself am on 200mgs and it has done wonders for me. I tried lowering it to a lower does, but it resulted in a bad breakout for me. Maybe you should consider upping your dosage to 125mg or 150, and see how that goes? I still get acne around my period, and it is pretty bad then. I also and still stuck with clogged pores. However, my acne was severe previously, and I had a minimum of 2 or 3 cysts on my face at one time, so this has been a vast improvement. Also, do you take BC with Spiro? I do not currently, but am thinking about it to see if it'll take away the acne around my period, because, even though my acne is 80% better, I want to be clear. Good luck!

I have had major depression and general anxiety for a few months now, I also clench my jaw during sleep. Due to which I experience weird pain in jaw and sometime chin area almost everyday. I end up touching my chin a lot every single day because of the weird pain. I start thinking every day that I will get a zit on my chin today..I guess my anxiety gets the best of me. I also feel tightness in my throat.
Anyway guys, I hope you all are doing well. Hang in there, and wait for steady progress for your skin.

Had acne for 12 years and it has been the most devastating thing in my life. Only fellow acne sufferers will know the emotional havoc in can do to one's life and self-image. Tried everything: topical creams, accutane (4 times: good while Im on it but acne comes back after 3 months; suffered the WORST initial breakout on my last round of accutane- will never take it again), bc pills, etc.
Came across spiro, requested it from my derm and he put me on a low dose-25 mg then 75 mg. The cure happened when I was put on the 125 mg dose. After 4 months, my face is acne free. I sometimes get little one's before a period (nothing like a baby quasar blue light can't handle) but nothing major and for once in my life not consistent anymore.
Coupled with prayers, I hope that I finally found my acne miracle and I hope that for anyone reading this who is desperate like I was..I wish you the best and I hope that it works out for you too.

It was with prayers I found spiro, I'm just a few days away from my 2 month mark. Slowly, spiro is working. I am on 100, but sometimes I increase my dose a little, like I go to up to 125 for couple of days, but that results in spotting and makes me start my period. Sorry for TMI. Anyway, I have just been getting weird blocked pores here and there which can easily be extracted. I am surprised though because my skin has become sooo dry, but I dont get why I would get weird blocked pores. Anyway, things are going well. I just need to give it more time. I really dont know if I should be upping my dose but the thing is that as soon as I up my dose my already flaky dry skin becomes painfully dry, and lips start to bleed with dryness. and my skin gets extremely tight and flaky dry on 125. So I think I just need to give 100mg more time. Its been a month but so far its good.
All of the ladies out there, keep me posted with your results. I hope you all see your results soon. Be patient.

Wish you the best! Talk to your derm about your dry skin. Maybe a certain moisturizer will work for you?

I wish you good luck with your journey. I am having my second period in one month right after i kind of increased my dose for two days. My skin is slowly improving. Still have a little non-inflamed clog pores problem here and there coupled with flaky dry skin. THis makes me think that dry skin and under exfoliation is a problem. I am, however, enjoying every food like never before. Which means I am eating pretty unhealthy. I will not be taking bc despite the irregularity. I AM HOPING IT WOULD GET better in a few months. Hopefully by the end of third month, I would stop getting clogged pores, but clogged pores are not that bad at all. Its just 2-3 here and there.
Good luck to you all. Good luck Atan. Remember to take food with lots of iron so you dont become anemic. Hopefully, your period would become regular. If I recall it correctly, I read somewhere that your periods return to normal when you stop spiro. SO if you are trying to get pregnant, you can slowly wean yourself off the month before you are trying to get pregnant. Some say that even two weeks is good enough. thats what I plan to do when I am about to get pregnant. However, I am not going to be taking any bcp. I dont like bcp period. I think spiro is way better.

Did you ever have blocked pores problem. And does spiro start to take care of those too? How long was it if you ever did see an improvement in clogged pores. I am seeing some but not full. It is almost my 2 months mark. No inflamed acne though.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Its just that I always end up thinking that ok probably thats it. Now I will have clear skin. Second month was really good for me so far. And ever since taking spiro, I didn't get a single cyst on my chin. I was really happy with that. I started enjoying nuts and sugar quite a bit. And then bam, end of second month and I have a sore bump on my chin. I spent the whole day crying yesterday. I started to think that maybe spiro is not working for me. I am right now on 100 mg. It seems to work well, but I dunno. It has been only 2 months, about a month on 50, and a month on 100. Usually people say that 3nd month is when they really see the difference. I dont know about that. Because my third month started with a sore bump on my chin. Its not getting worse, but as you all might know how discouraging this journey could be. I wish none of us has to go through this.
