Hey everyone, I have a somewhat oily skin and I am currently on Retin A .1 and Doxy 100 mg twice a day. I use cetaphil to moisturizer my skin and also a sunscreen to protect it but when I put them on I look really shiny and greasy. I use blotting sheets (a pack of 40 gift wrapping sheets i got from the dollar store that i cut into small squares) and was wondering if when U blot do I take some of the product off? Should I blot right after I put the product on or wait 15 or 20 mins before blotting?
Oil blotting take off products?

I'd wait at least half an hour to be sure the product's absorbed enough. After that time it should be okay to blot without removing excessive amounts of product.
If I blot while wearing makeup, some makeup comes off. So I suppose that some product will also come off, but as it has already absorbed a bit and you're not scraping it off, it should maintain effectiveness. That's my hypothesis, anyway.

I always waited 30-60 minutes, until the medications "felt" absorbed. One of the medications I used to use (Tazorac) was highly effective, and I blotted constantly, so I don't think blotting affects medication efficacy to any significant extent.

My favorite trick is to go into a restroom, if I'm in a public place, and use one of the tissue paper toilet seat covers to blot my face. They are large enough to soak up all the oil and blot several times. They are free and they are everywhere!
I have used the blotting sheets available at the drugstore, etc. They are small and it takes a lot of them to work. I do use them at home though.
