I live in the UK and would like to start the regimen, however could someone please clarify how much the shipping costs would be ? Also could anyone recomend any other cleanser and mositurizer products, as one option could be to order the BP from this site then buy the cleanser and moisturizer from a local store.

Any help would be great thanks ?

The cost of shipping depends on which shipping method you choose to have the products shipped with (danielkern.com offers quite a few options). You can also look around this board, where other UK posters have discussed various alternative products that can be used for The Regimen that are available in the UK.

You have to watch out for the hidden cost of the dreaded customs charge. You can import stuff to the value of £18 on each purchase before it kicks in - that's the price of the actual purchase, not including the postage. You have to watch this, bcs the 1st time I ordered I got the small starter kit and had to pay £12 in fees!

Dan's BP is the best, so don't stint on that. I generally order the 8oz tube of BP - not the big bottle, bcs you'll get done for the customs with that. Only order one at a time. Use the cheapest carriage - 1st class international postage (unless you're needing it fast, and want to pay the extra) - it'll take about 10 days.

The last time I bought one, it cost 27.11 US dollars in all - that's £17.63, but obviously it may vary a little depending on the exchange rate that day. My bank also charges me £1.73 in fees but I think if you use a credit card you may well be able to dodge this. The tube lasts me around a month.

Unless you really want to, you don't need to use Dan's other stuff, except for the AHA which I'll come to in a minute.

Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser are available at Lloyd's for £8.20 each (I have found it only at the larger Lloyd's stores - the small ones don't seem to carry it). You can get them cheaper at pharmacy2U.co.uk - about £7.65 delivered. There are also loads of other cleansers and moisturisers available that would be fine, I guess it's just working out what suits you. Read all the posts on this and get ideas from other people for what to try. People often list what they use in their signatures too, so this is a good source of info.

Really good jojoba is available from Amazon.co.uk - Tisserand brand - about £9.20 for a big bottle I think. It has lasted me more than 2 months. Or some sellers have it on ebay. You may be able to get some locally to you in shops, but no one near me sells the organic - which I think is best.

When you've been on the regimen for 1 month or so, you can include AHA. I have only tried Dan's, so I don't know about the others available here. Again if you just order one at a time from Dan, you dodge the customs. The tube is huge and will last you years probably.

Hi - I'm a poverty-stricken student so price is very important to me. Here is what I use for the regime with good results:

Wash: Boots "Skin Expert" Sensitive Gentle Cleansing Wash

Costs £2.99 from larger boots shops or online. One bottle lasts me over 2 months.

Benzoyl peroxide: Quinoderm Cream 5%

I put it on quite thickly, rub it around little bit and then just leave it - it absorbs in by itself in 5-10 mins. 1 tube lasts me about 2 weeks.

"Pharmacy2U" (can't seem to add links on this forum...) sell 3 tubes in a "triple pack" for £10.69

Moisturise: Cetaphil Moisturising Cream

Again I buy this from P2U, currently it is £8.69 a tube. A tube lasts me 6-8 weeks. I can be a bit greasy but you can help this by gently soaking up any excess with a bit of toilet paper before you go out.

So what I do is buy 2 triple packs of Quinoderm and 2 tubes of Cetaphil every 3-4 months. Often delivery is free.

Cost: ~£42 every 3 months, roughly £3.20 a week.

Hope this helps a little! Obviously you need to find a set of products that works for you.

hey there,
when i was in London I started the regimen, I used PanOxyl behind the counter. The small tube lasts for a month was only 3 GBP, and the larger one I think was like 5 GBP which I got when I returned to Canada to keep up with the regimen. But I also ordered Dan's BP, they both work great. Dan's BP goes on smoother I find and don't dry as quick. I would do the large tube of PanOxyl to try out the regimen first.. and you feel like it's going well after a couple of months, then get the Dan's BP and forkout for shipping. yikes.

Just to clarify (I don't quite understand the customs stuff!) - if I order the entire small starter pack (cleasner, treatment, moisturizer) will they charge me £12? I wouldn't mind paying that as a first time customer

From the times i have ordered stuff from America, i have found the custom charge is random.

Sometimes they charge extra, sometimes they dont. Just the luck of the draw when it comes through customs. I might be wrong though.

Supporting this, the shipping cost are quite pricy already on top of that the tax is just killing us!

One thing you guys could do is send the packages as gifts, ive ordered quite some things from the US and noticed that when sended as gifts we often don't have to pay the tax.

This has already been discussed. Danielkern.com can't send packages as gifts:

Exactly. I spoke to our shipper about this and businesses are not allowed to mark things as gifts. It could potentially get the company into a lot of trouble and also make it difficult for ANY of our products to get through in the future, whether they're marked as "gift" or not.

I'm sorry that we don't have a way around this. I know you guys pay a lot of money in customs fees.

My last order was the same as yours and I managed to avoid the dreaded Royal Mail card on the doormat. Any more than just 1 8oz product and it's almost certain though. That's partly why I stopped ordering the cleanser and moisturiser. I now use Simple products which are pretty good but there doesn't seem to be anything as moisturising as the OLD acne.org moisturiser out there. I mourn its passing, as does my irritated, red face. Anyway, I think you'll be okay with the customs charge.
