Hello everyone, I just received my first pearl fractional laser treatment today. I was really looking forward to this laser treatment for so long. Because I was between skin types 3 to 4, I was not elgible for CO2 or fraxel laser of any sort. They were too scared of me having hypo/hyperpigmentation issues. This pearl fractional targets water under our skin instead of melatonin which gives color to our skin. Anyways enough of the boring facts haha, I took alot of pictures because "pictures are a thousand words" hopefully this would be of use to someone that would be interested into this type of laser treatment. I will post pictures of when I had the face numbing cream on, so you can basically get a good idea of the acne scarring I have from those pictures. I did 2 passes all over my face with this treatment, but they upped the power near the cheek area of my face because that is where most of my acne scarring was. I asked them to be as aggressive as possible, and they agreed to be as aggressive but still in the safe area. I took the antibiotics/antiviral medications 2 days before the treatment. I took hydrocodon before I went in that same day. The first pass was nothing to sweat, the second pass was a bit more painful. It really isnt that bad to be honest. I've had chemical peels that were worse. Okay I will post pictures now, so if anyone has any questions or comments please post smile.gif.

Hmm sorry it says pictures are too big I can't upload through acne.org, so I'll try to use tinypic to upload

All these pictures are just from the first day of the procedure. I have to constantly keep removing the vasoline with vinegar+water mixture, and reapplying the vasoline 4 to 8 times each day.

went through that myself awhile back. Obviously all that damaged skin is going to slough off andregenerate. Please post back with pics down the line. All the best and eat a lot of green leafy veg!

I'm asian and I did fraxel repair and no hyperpigmentation here. Although another dermatologist said that the prolonged redness was hyperpigmentation but I reckon that was bullshit. good luck
