DAY 64

Hey guys- sorry I haven't been updating much recently, there's been some unfortunate personal things happening that have been taking up a lot of time. Nothing affecting me directly, but my boyfriend, and it's all been a bit hard.

Anyway, face update - things are going well, very clear at the moment, and I really think that bumping up the BP is key. I think that means for us ladies with freakishly small extremities (as I've been told) it means one HEAPING finger of BP - enough to cover your face, and THEN some. I currently have one tiny teeny something on my chin - that's it! Yay!

Unfortunately this bumping up the BP has coincided with full on winter here in Paris. I spend almost all day running around outside and on the metro so my skin has been feeling the burn - lots of moisturizer and light exfoliation with a wet towel seem to help. And chapstick!!! - luckily they make the best one here. biggrin.gif labello anyone?

Wishing everyone out there a great face day

I just thought I should add a little caveat, and really want to stress to anyone who's reading this who many be contemplating going on the regimen, how PHENOMENAL my skin looks compared to when I started. And aside from a few ups and downs along the way, it's pretty much been this way since week three.
I've heard a lot of people say how the regimen makes their face more wrinkly, but that really hasn't been the case for me. All the bumps have gone and my skin looks smooth and much younger.

So hear it comes, it's been said a million times before. . . . .

THANK YOU DAN!! I should have just gone on your method from the start without farting around with other things that didn't work. I really urge anyone out there who's considering trying it to give it a shot.

Here is my regimen, morning and night:

Wash with philosophy purity cleanser
apply jojoba oil
wait at least 5 minutes
Dan's BP
wait 15 minutes (always!)
Apply Simple Light Moisturizer mixed with jojoba

Also, a bit about me: I'm 27, fair, freckly, and my skin type is dry.

Hope this helps someone out there! And let me know if you have any questions!

hey americaninparis,

Congrats on your skin!!! smile.gif smile.gif Life is much better when you dont have to obsess about your skin, isn't it???
I think Paris is abit more moist (humid) than some other locations, and that may be why you are not experiencing as much dryness? I know when I was in London, or West coast of North America, I don't need much moisturizer - but when I get back to the Eastern Central part, I use A LOT.

Cheers X

DAY 65

Thanks FTWeekend! I'm glad you're enjoying clear skin days now too. It's really great, I can't say enough how much I wish I'd gone on the regimen sooner.

Having a very minor breakout of a few teeny pimples on my jawline. They're not even noticeable. Everything else is really really clear.

And you're right, it's definitely a lot less dry here than in my native California! Although we're having a cold spell at the moment and my skin is suffering a bit. Will be heading home in about a week for the holidays, will report if there's any change there.

Hey americaninparis! Eeee, congrats on the progress! I'm so happy for you--I cannot wait until I can say the same. My skin is really suffering from the cold right now--do you find that putting on the jojoba oil before the BP helps with dryness/flakiness? I didn't find that it was making much of a difference but maybe I wasn't using enough. I very badly want to do some manual exfoliation to take care of this skin goatee I have going on but I'm afraid it might irritate my already fragile skin. Hope things continue to go well for you!

Hey Ohdear,

Thanks for the support! It does feel great to be clear! Don't worry you will get there very very soon. I too have been suffering from the cold, it sucks! I'm getting way more flakes and my skin feels a bit rough in places. When this happens I gently exfoliate with a warm, wet wash cloth after cleansing, just rubbing it lightly in circles around my face. It really seems to help and doesn't seem to irritate: my skin gets red for a moment when I do it, but then fades. As long as you try it gently it should be ok.
I've used jojoba oil before BP every time since going on the regimen, and my skin is so naturally dry that I'm NOT curious to find out what it would be like without it! I have the kind of skin that feels very tight and dry after I wash it, even for 5 seconds. For my skin type, I'm personally convinced that the jojoba before BP saves me from tons of irritation: in general I seem to have had a lot fewer issues along the way than other people, just comparing my log with others.
Anyway, let me know if you try either of things out, and keep on trucking! It took me over two months to get consistently clear (and I'm still having a jawline breakout) so it takes a while!

DAY 67

Flakiness is dying down after I did some towel exfoliation. Jawline breakout is still ongoing but very very minor. Putting BP on it doesn't seem to help it heal, but also doesn't seem to make it worse. My attempts at not picking are failing! Everywhere else is looking very smooth and clear!

DAY 68

Jaw breakout continues to go down but sloooooowly. Having a hard time keeping up with the full dose cause my skin is DRY! I usually do the towel method at least once a day, but I think flakiness isn't noticeable to anyone but me. It's NOTHING compared to how it was on Retin-A!
It snowed and I was sick in bed all day, very boring! And I miss my boyfriend, who's down south. Counting down the days until I go home for Christmas, not many more now! Need some family love and some California sun. Oh yeah, and dental surgery doubt.gif

hi americaninparis,

sounds so great for you eusa_dance.gif

yes...this weather is doing a bit of problems for us...the same in london. it´s not only the cold weather ( i actually enjoy having cold wind on my burning face) but the temperature changes...from warm to cold and from cold to warm....dry air etc...it freaks my skin out with irritation too.

with the dryness: i realised (lots of unvoluntary selftests redface.gif ) that not only fat can help but actual moist/water as well...as jojobaoil might get the flakes under control but sometimes it doesn´t really give the moist the skin is screaming for. i think it´s down to the dry air at the moment. there is no water in the air...the heated rooms are super dry...so you might consider moisturise your face maybe a bit more...not as much as me redface.gif but maybe more to get some fluid back.

i know your feelings about picking and popping a pimple...

it was so bad yesterday for me: my pusfilled spots nearly bursted and started to really hurt...and is was so hard to not pop them...

BUT i must say that sometimes people don´t think about one thing when they say: don´t pop, the pus goes everywhere and infects other areas etc...yes...this is true BUT i made an experiment now (unvoluntary again redface.gif ).

i didn´t pop any of my pimples for nearly all of those weeks now. some where so big that they actually broke into pieces when i washed them or slept at nighttime...and what did these spots do? of course the gave my face the full loaded amount of pus i couldn´t have dreamt of if i had actually popped it eusa_snooty.gif so i was actually either moisturising/moving the pus around my face or sleeping on/in it eusa_wall.gif

AND the other thing i noticed: unpopped pimples stay longer and leave more marks then popped ones...i have no idea why but i noticed this now very very much!

so i personally think: if the pus-pimple is so big that it is surely breaking with your next wash or while you are sleeping and accidently touched your pillow with your face> you rather pop it and have at least a little bit control over the pus and where its going AND you can desinfect it ...then sleeping on your open pimple all night and wonder why this area has new other pimples around it.

you see: i´m still wondering and experimenting until i find my own little way of dealing with things!

i can immagine (bytheway) that you miss your boyfriend. i had this when i didn´t shared a flat with him. it is a very lonely feeling when the partner is not around...i hope your partner comes back soon!!!

keep up the good work!!!

DAY 76

Hey Pickpock, thanks for checking in! Hope things are well with you.

Just a quick update to say that I'm back in CA for the holidays. Things are going well generally, missed an application on the plane so have one small chin pimple forming potentially, and some VERY flaky skin. Other than that things are all good, the first thing my mom said when I got off the plane was, "wow, your skin looks great!"

Hope everyone out there is doing well

Hey!

I'm so glad to hear everything is going so well for you. You deserve it!

In answer to your question WAY back, no, I hardly ever get zits anymore. If I ever DO get one-- and I've had 3 in 4 months-- they are small and don't really leave red marks. But... I am extremeley prone to them, and while most have faded away I still have some from the most horrendous breakout of my life back in February. There are maybe 3 permanent scars, but they're super shallow and barely noticeable, but I think I'm going to try microdermabrasion.

Thanks a ton, and do keep me updated! <3

DAY 83

Hey HotGlue, thanks for checking in! Yeah, red marks are sooo annoying, and I usually get them after I've picked at something (duh). I have some that are sticking around foreveeeer. Luckily though, I have freckles so it gets to a point where they just blend in!

Am pretty sure it's day 83 but am not positive, I feel like I've been on the regimen for longer, but I guess it's not even three months. Funny! Am I doing the math right??

Anyway, just for an update - skin is looking really really good, was worried that coming back to CA would cause crazy dryness but it really hasn't. Whenever I get flaky I just do my scrubby towel method and it totally fixes it, seriously, I would recommend it to anyone!

It's the week of my period so I've had a few crop up on my jawline, including one surprisingly large one, but because of their location they really haven't been noticeable. They are reeeeally stubborn though: so far under the skin that I can't get to them and can't spot treat them, and they never go away on their own! What do you guys do for that stuff? It's very frustrating!
That said, they are such a minor issue and I continue to be happier than ever with my skin.

Hey americaninparis... now back in CA! LOL! I'm soo happy to hear that you're doing so well!! And it's great that you're not stressing about the tiny breakouts, no biggie! They'll go away before you'll notice that they're gone ;P I'm glad we're all somewhat clear for Christmas, definitely a very MERRY ONE smile.gif ... and very well deserved because you kept going even when it was doubtful.

Hey FTWeekend!

Thanks for the support, it's true, finally being clear for Christmas was a great feeling!! You've definitely deserved it too after your long struggle, I've checked out your log and your skin is looking GREAT!

DAY 96

Just got back to Paris - had basically two pimples over the entire holidays (one was a recurring one in an old spot) and a little bit of dryness which I easily solved with my towel method and copious amounts of jojoba. Taking long plane flights and skipping one regimen caused two small ones to crop up, but they were really no big deal and are going away now. Best thing of all is that my old red marks are really disappearing, hooray! Have been experimenting with bringing my dose down slightly to see if it keeps dryness down while being as effective, will report back with results.

Everyone out there, keep on trucking! This stuff WORKS!

xoxo

DAY 103

Just a quick report to say that I haven't had a pimple on my face of any kind in well over a week - not even a blackhead!! This has been amazing, I haven't had skin like this since I was 12! Every now and then my skin gets a bit dry, which I usually can fix with the towel method.

I'm so so happy, going on this regimen was the best thing I've ever done for my skin. I love that I don't even have to think about my skin anymore and that when I do wear make up I just put on a very light layer! Red marks are also really fading into nothing, which is great. Now I am noticing a few shallow scars on my skin from past acne, but they are not very noticeable and are from recent breakouts so hopefully they will go away.

I should also mention that now I am on the regimen I am comfortable touching my face and having other people touch it. This never happened before! It's amazing.

Wishing everyone a clear skin day!

DAY 114

Just a quick update to let everyone know that my skin is still doing so so well! I'm SO happy with the regimen, I've even experimented with bringing down my BP dose and it's still been working great!! Anyone out there who's thinking about going on the regimen, do it now, you have nothing to lose and potentially everything to gain! I literally never think about my skin anymore and it's such a great feeling!

Am too lazy now, but need to update my status to 100% clear!!

DAY WHATEVER

Hey all! Just checking in to say that things are going really really well. Can't remember the last time I had a pimple of any kind. Every now and then I will feel a small raised bump that before I would have been sure would turn into something, but now it's no problem at all! It doesn't ever become red and goes away in a day or so.
Couldn't be happier!! I've also gone down to one pump and it's still working great. To everyone out there, keep on trucking!
