Will this kind of cyst/pimple go away on its own?

So almost two weeks ago a nasty pimple next to my nose on my cheek started surfacing. It got really, really big. A week ago, I popped it, but I still had a bump left over. Since after I popped it, it bled a lot and became very inflamed, I worried that it would scar so I kept polysporin on it for like 4 days.

The pimple is a lot smaller, but there is a small red bump left over still. I went to the derm, and he said he could do a cortisone shot, but I really didn't want to take the chance of getting a dent that I got last time from a cortisone shot, especially when this pimple at the moment is not as big as it was. He said sometime a cyst can be left over after popping a pimple and prescribed a topical with BP.

Has anyone ever had that happen after popping a pimple? Is it going to go away on its own? It's just this weird red circular bump. I wonder if it doesn't go away after a certain point, if I should do a cortisone shot, but those really worry me.

Also I got a sample of Acanya. Is that fine to spot treat with? Can it make a pimple worse than it already is? I get nervous trying new things sometimes.

For what its worth, I had a pimple between my nose and face a couple weeks back (and numerous times before). I popped it and immediately put some SA on it. I gave it time and now its gone.

I'm pretty sure its not the same situation as yours but time is a healer.

Was there still a bump for a bit after you popped it? It's just a little bump and the derm said there's nothing to extract or get out of it. It's not huge, but I don't want it to be permanent either.

Yea there was a bump but I constantly put 10% BP at night, and the pimple decreased significantly over 3 days

hmm well i had like 2-3 pimples on my forehead (typical pimples) and after applying my usual BP, they decreased in size but they left this slightly raised thing. It looks like pih but its really a little raised. I have had it for about 2-3 months now..

Mine is a very slight bump and it's more just still a bit red too, but it's a lot more manageable with concealer now than it was a week ago. I guess it needs time too. Last weekend was when the scab came off again and it was bleeding a lot, so I kept polysporin on it until Thursday morning. I might have a slight scar from the center where I had popped it. Otherwise I hope at least the redness around it fades away and it flattens more into my skin.
