Hello my name is Gavin and i'm 26 years old. I always had the occasional spot growing up but just over 8 moths ago my face began to break out really bad. There was no specific pattern to the acne, it was pretty random all over my face. The spots were big that would get a white head which i would pop when ready. Ocasionally i'd get some cysts, normally on my jawline. I went to the doctor 6 months ago and he prescribed me with Tetracyline which i am still taking now, he has given me repeat prescription and didn't seem to worried about me taking it long term. I haven't had any major side effects apart form the occasional stomach pain. The results have been pretty good, i no longer get cysts and the spots on my face have pretty much gone, apart from the occasional tiny one here and there, i normally pop them and they are not visible the next day. My problem is my jawline and under my jaw line onto my neck. About 2 weeks ago this started to breakout with very tiny white heads, new ones seem to appear every few hours, when i nick them with my finger nail you get here them burst, they are so small its difficult to see what comes out but its not puss but more a clear liquid. They leave a red mark which goes eventually but there are so many lately my jaw and below is constanly red. They also itch a little and i feel a pin prick sensation when i am breaking out. Just wanted to know if this has been experienced by anyone else and whether or not this is still acne or maybe another disease.

Your thoughts would be really appreciated.

Thanks Gavin

Oh i should mention i've only really needed tostart shaving daily for the past few months, could this be another reason for it? My skin getting used to being shaved everyday?

Well difficult to say. Something change in your body to act like that. My suggestion is to take the antibiotic and after that, to use some product with AHA (glycolic acid) like Avene Cleanence K. In time, the skin will improve in your jaw line. Now, you should consider using BP 2,5% near the chin or stronholds (just a little). Use a little bit of moisturizer and try to find why the change .. did you change something in your life? stress? exercise? weather?

Thanks for the quick response. I will continue with the anti biotics but fear what will result when i finish. I'll get some BP 2.5 for the jawline too. I can't really think of anything that has changed to cause this, i thought it might be a change due to the anti-biotics. Sounds stupid but my skins way of breaking out even with the anti boitics. It almost feels like my acne has mutated into a new form. Will BP 2.5 cause me to have an initial breakout do you know?

Thanks angain for the response.

I use a little bit of BP on some areas and I don't think it will cause a breakout. Remember the AHA and use the right amount (antibiotics just clear your face, then you use other stuff to keep acne at bay).
Good Luck.
