Hello everyone,

I only found this site a week ago but have been on it quite a bit since as it’s really helping me find other products to try and so far...nothing has got me completely clear. If anyone can help please do let me know!!!

It might help if I start from the top, if you can stand the long story! I was on Dinette (birth control pill) which was keeping my skin clear but my doctor took me off it to test for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome…while off the pill I pilled on 4 stone and now I’m too overweight to go back on it! I have tried other mini pills, but all play havoc with my hormones and makes matters worse. I tested positive for PCOS and am now on tablets for it and with a personal trainer Im battling to get the weight down to go back on the Dinette…few. In the meantime I need help controlling acne and oily skin!! Im never without spots and Im oily after about 3 hours of applying my mak up in the morning. To make matters worse I work shift which messes my sleep patterns up.

I have tried most products and treatments from DDF to panoxyl 10% to N lite the laser treatment. Nothing has completely cleared me…I merely manage.

Currently I’m on a organic range and its ok. I have also recently discovered lemon juice as a toner and this controls oil well (gives me another hour of non shine!) I don’t think oil control lotion works for me as this makes me more oily but anyone got other options for hormonal acne?!

So far I:

Morning:

Every day:
Wash with Natural Elements lemongrass wash
Pan oxyl 10% BP wash

Pat dry with town never rub (I heard that’s bad)

Lemon juice as toner
Dermalogica matte SPF 20

Morning:

Once a week:
Biore clay mask
St Ives apricot scrub (anti blemish)
Sometimes Dermalogica clay cleanser

Makeup:

Lily lolo mineral foundation, flawless matte powder, over up and blush
Mac eye shadow primer (to keep eyelids matte!)

MAC blot press powder throughout the day

Evening:

Remove makeup as soon as I get in for the night! (if im in for a while before bed)
Simple oil balance wipes
Simple eye make up remover pads
Natural Elements lemon grass toner

Before bed:
(remove make up)
Lemon juice used as toner
A few times a week I use Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid 10% hydrating gel
And a layer of Sudocrem to finish off over night (was using 10%BP but I think iv used it so much now it has little/no effect)

I take multi-vit and tried fish oils...I also eat a diet from my PT and drink alot of water.
wow I think thats everything!!!

This keep my skin OK ish but Id like to do better! Any ideas would really help guys as Iv tried everything! eusa_wall.gif

Hi! Im in the UK too and also on dianette. I also tried the N lite but no success. Seen as you know your problem is hormoal have you looked into this

I would also suggest keeping you products simple. I saw a big change when I stopped using loads of products and just used simple cleanser, dans bp and simple moisturiser. Maybe give it a try?
As for the oil, many people have had success with high doses of B5 or pantothenic acid. I tried it and did reduce oil but didn't help with acne much!

Good luck to you!

Thanks for your help Im looking into the Hormone boards to see if there is help, and am already taking a B vitamin complex. Iv just got some Murad samples and this seems to help with oil somewhat.
Thanks again!

Have you heard of Vitex?
Look up the feedbacks online, like in amazon's site.
I read it helps regulate and balance female hormone production.

I started taking it last July 29, 2010.
2x a day, AM & PM.

Its NOT a fast-acting herb.

I have Irregular Period. sad.gif
I'm taking it for more than a month now, no difference yet with my period, but I feel good.
I'm also in a Vitamin Regimen. smile.gif

Check my Log.
