Attached File  IMG_8462.JPG   279.77K   30 downloadsAttached File  IMG_8462.JPG   279.77K   30 downloadsI have suffered with acne from age 14 I have PCOS a condition which my ovaries make too much androgen so I get acne. I was on and off tetracyline from 14 till 18. When I turned 18 I got antibiotic resistant acne. I was COVERED the antibiotic cleared my skin beautifully at first and then it slowely lost effectiveness until it was a stage 5 emergency lol. I stopped going to school and every thing. Thank god in heaven for Accutane they put me on it and it cleared me in 2 weeks smile.gif I was on 80mg's a day at 135lbs at the time currently 175 sad.gif what dose are they going to put me on 1,000mgs. lol. I had small break outs here and there around period time. P.S. here I am at 34 years old I had a baby 10 months ago. while I was preggo my skin was absolutely gorgeus. Now my skin is sooo oily and full of pimples. I tried several B.C. pills and hormone treatments including Spiro and metformin which made it worse. I did differen and topicals nothing. My only 2 options are vbeam with levluen or accutane. I just feel the accutane will make it worse before better I am not Covered as I was in high school when i had nothing to lose. It is on the sides of my face, I wear bare minerals but still hate the fact this I have the skin of a teenager underneath lol. dont know what to do sad.gif

Hey!

1)Your acne isn't that bad (ok I'm a glass half full kinda guy but seriously I don't think it's that bad)

2)I don't think you should be afraid to take another round of accutane since you've been through that already and (probably) didn't suffer any long term side effects which is the scary thing about accutane. I would consult a dermatologist and tell him how effective it was the first time around, if it's still effective in older ages why the hell not take it ?

3)Have you tried Paula's Choice products or the regimen from acne.org?

Wait, Accutane? Seriously? I'm happy to hear its working for you but it does NOT fix the root cause of acne. Acne is a symptom to whats going on inside you. I'd recommend fasting over Accutane any day.
