I am going to get me some spearmint tea online now, hopefully it works! I have the oiliest skin ever, and my acne ain't getting any better.
It's hard to find spearmint tea here in my area though! Is peppermint the same?

I'm a 22 yo female.

Hi all! I am a 20 years old girl who has an irritably oily skin and I registered particularly to respond to this thread.

I experienced mint tea's miracle effect on sebum production. I was inspired initially when I read that mint tea blocked androgenic activity in women according to a study done at Turkey. So I thought maybe it could help my skin condition as well as my frontal hair loss. It worked well on me but I never have exceeded 2 cups per day. I'd say don't overeat anything even if it's healthy.

Since I stopped drinking mint tea my skin has been getting oily again. But I got my lesson. This is the second day I began to drink mint tea again. Anyway I will let you know whenever I see the improvement. By

If I were to brew a cup of this tea and apply it to my face with a cotton ball would it have the same effect?

So far I have been drinking 2 cups of black tea and 2 cups of spearmint tea a day. I started a few days ago so hopefully I will see some results in the coming weeks. I am also going to go on a low dose of B5 (starting at 2g/day and eventually moving to 3g/day).

At first I was afraid to mess with my hormones but I don't care anymore.

Hey, did you drink spearmint tea or peppermint tea? That's awesome that your oil production went down!

And yeah sorry this thread is a bit old but hopefully someone knows if peppermint or spearmint is better :)

I just started drinking peppermint tea, drank one cup today gonna start drinkin two a day. I also just started taking saw palmetto. Two days ago was when I noticed a positive effect. My skin usually gets oily half an hr after washing. It must have been maybe two hours, maybe three and my face was pretty dry, some minor oil but not as usual. And when i wake up in the mornings I can feel an oil slick across my face, and on this particular morning the day after I started taking the saw Palmetto my skin's oil was reduced by 50 percent. IDK maybe i should stick to one thing for a little bit and see which works best. As for now i'm doing both based on the positive reviews I've read, and seeing as how i have very oily skin and have been told i'm insulin sensitive with PCOS. I say give either a try. So far I like what I'm seeing

Thanks guys so much! My mom said she'd buy some next time she went to the store. Although, of course, both her and my boyfriend rolled their eyes, sighed at me, and treated me like I was crazy for thinking food could affect acne... :( I hate when people do that. Seriously, the worst part about acne is all the people who make fun of you for eating healthy. No one will make fun of your acne outright, but they WILL make fun of the way you eat...which just feels like they're making fun of your acne in a roundabout way.

Sorry for the rant. I've been needing to rant about that for awhile :(

Quick question, would two tall glasses of tea with 2 tea bags work just as well? (4 total) I like taller glasses of tea and usually put 2 tea bags inside. It also makes it easier to drink and not forget.

Yes I started to use mint tea topically a few days ago. And it is more targeted than drinking it. Combination of the two is better though. I'd say go for it.
