thanks for the tip, i have been looking for soaps and have tried one or two to reduce oily skin, like ph level below or as such for oily skin.
I sort of gave up trying with the soaps, but if you point out that this soap may decrease oil, then i will try it for sure. I just wont be rubbing it into my skin though, i have moles, not heaps but like a few on my back, so i have to be careful.
Where do you purchase this soap - supermarkets, online stores, pharmacy?
I will keep a look out for it or ask at some health places and definitely try it, is this the only name for it but?
THis is off the topic - Have you tried half a squeeze of lemon in a glass of water in the morning every second day? Try it, and let us know if it reduces your oil production.
Well ill get back to you in the next week and try to get a hold of some of this soap.

I couldn't find the Coral Kavi/sulphur soap, though i bought some Sapoderm soap.
Have you heard of this soap or tried it before?
I'm giving it a go till i find the one you have mentioned, and ill let you know how it works with my skin.
Speak soon.

Kavi soap is special in the fact that is has high grade sulfur, and salycic acid, both oil fighting agents.
Sapoderm has neither sulfur or salycic acid as ingredients and therefore I cannot speak for it's effectiveness.

Hi there,
How much longer does it take for your skin to get oily again? A few hours?

Oil Queen, your in a lucky position being a women that you have the opportunity to use Spironolactone, an antiandrogen, that seems to be one of the best treatments for oily skin besides accutane (but without the horrible side effects). Unfortunately males are not advised to use it.

Sapoderm basically makes your skin squeaky clean, so it removes all the oil really well, it doesn't stop it from coming back.

On another note, I've tried Spiro...but I believe the dose was too low, around 25mg. I then found this site and saw people taking 50-100mg and I didn't even know about the potassium build up. Did I mention I ordered the stuff online? No doctor monitoring over here, bad, I know. The potassium stuff scared me away (I know you can die from just an injection of potassium either in the heart or anywhere else... slows the heart down and goes into cardiac arrest, I'm trailing off-topic)...so, back to some natural goodies. Oh, I'm also using topical anti-shine goop in-a-bottle stuff from the makeup counters, but I will give this a try, thanks Oil King.

I do notice that the soap leaves a sulfur smell on your face (not overwhelming, no one will notice) but I believe that shows that it's leaving a bit of resin behind. My face never looks stripped of oils after using it, but rather matte and tight, I love it.

I'm not expecting a miracle soap to banish oily skin forever, but a better soap for oil and mild acne.
I will definitely give an update at the end of this week to let you guys know how it's been working for me.

Oil King so did you stop the low dose of accutane?
would you say that this is the best product you've tried so far for oily skin?
I need to get my oily skin under control. it has taken over my life. i can't go anywhere with out looking like an oil pit.

I've now replaced my soap from Basic (which is nice and gentle, but didn't do much for me)to the Kavi soap. I even use this soap on the mild amount of acne that I have on my shoulders, it helps to shrink them a bit. After each wash, this soap makes your face look like you've just washed off a mud mask...smaller pores and all, which lasts for about 2 hours. If only this look lasted for the entire day. Also, if there is any reduction in oil, then it's probably just a slight one. But remember that this being a topical product, and not something to change the oil production from the inside, can only do so much. However, if you're looking for a better facial soap for your oily skin, then definitely give this one a try. As for me, I'm sticking with this soap...and I might even stock up on some Phisoderm bar soap which works great for me as well, but doesn't hold back the oil for this long.

I was just wondering how I would use this soap with Dan's regimen...Would this soap replace his cleanser or do I just use the cleanser like normal and then wash my face aftwerwards with this soap?

Honestly, I would try out both methods to see which one works best for you. Follow Dan's regimen and then use this soap before putting on the benzoyl peroxide (which I think is the last step..?). Try this for a week straight, then for the next week just switch Dan's soap with the Kavi soap and see how it works for a week. Whichever one works best with your skin is the method that I would go with.
It was an instant thing. After the very first wash, I timed how long it would take for oil to start coming to the surface. I was watching the clock on my cable box, watching the tv and checked the mirror every 30 mins, lol. It neared the two hour mark before I started to see a slight sheen. My face will always be oily, but this keeps it at bay after each use.

Thylox ingredients : http://www.internatural-alternative-health.../ingr498167.cfm
Kavi: http://www.kaviskin.com/products/coral-kavi.html
So, it's sounds like it will be a toss up of whether or not this will work for your skin.

I'll pass since I use salicylic medication separately.

For me it's the worst and most horrible feeling that i get from having oily skin, I don't care that my face is oily at times, it's more so my shoulders back, neck and chest, it's just so uncomfortable, i really restrain myself from doing things, like i have mentioned the cold, it's just so devastating, and it makes me feel miserable, i have to shower constantly.
Though also, if you guys have tried Sapoderm, it isn't bad actually, it cleans the skin really well, i don't think it wards off the oil, but it does a good job of washing it all off the places you use it on your skin.
I have had less showers from using Sapoderm, but when i have my days i will shower twice when i need to for sure, I'm not saying it does absolute wonders but if you know what i mean.
I may give it a week, and then try coral kavi, is there anywhere on the web where they sell it a little cheaper? I will try ebay or something similar also.
