So I am officially cutting all nuts out of my diet. Why you might ask? Nuts are full of nutrition and very healthy and natural. It has come to my attention that they are causing me to get worse no matter what way I eat them. Soaked, dehydrated, buttered creamy, buttered crunchy, blended into something, IT DOESN'T MATTER. Nuts have been screwing me over long enough and if anyone can object to this I would like to hear your plea to somehow convince me that I'm just crazy. Even if I do soak them...I overeat them which causes strain on my digestive system which means worse leaky gut = undigested food = candida attack. Plus, once I get on my road of being addicted to nuts, when I finish a bad of almonds I'll eat ANY form of nuts in sight. This is ruining my candida diet not to say how annoying the yo-yo dieting gets. I can't restrain myself around nuts so if I want to have success in eliminating my Candida and getting back on track then I have to quit.

Now you might all be wondering why I'm ranting about this as it has nothing to do with acne. Well, nuts of course make me break out. The load on my digestive system (especially the unsoaked ones) can wreak havoc on my face. I'm pretty sure if I eliminate them all together I will be at least 90% clear. I already cleared up a whole bunch just by dropping antibiotics + birth control + candida sugar-free diet. The clear skin didn't last for long my friends...The nuts have done it all. I even had problems with nuts before the candida diet. It's been like this for awhile (I had candida all this time, though) and I didn't know what was causing it. Of course the nuts and the sugar were ruining my face but now it's just the nuts. Viola! I will post every day I get through which is nut-free here.

My now nut-free diet will be the same thing I've been doing just without the nuts (I might still have almond milk):

Protein: organic eggs, (hopefully at least antibiotic and hormone-free) chicken, beef, turkey, pork, good salmon, canned tuna (only once or twice a week is advised)

Carbs: Broccoli, cabbage, spinach, COOKED tomatoes, green beans, celery, onions, cucumbers, lemon (not sure if I should cut these out because of leaky gut)

Fat: Extra virgin unrefined coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, butter (haven't had any of this yet), Hemp milk

Occasional: cheese, cream cheese, couple pieces of grapefruit, blackberries/blueberries (only added any of this because I've been on this diet for awhile)

Seasonings: Garlic, cilantro, ginger, lemon juice (fresh), sea salt, freshly ground peppercorn, parsley, lemon zest, cinnamon, peppermint oil

Tea: decaf green, peppermint herbal, chamomile, any other herbal

HOME MADE YOGURT with my probiotics

I hope the probiotics aren't giving me acne because of leaky gut! I'm starting with the nuts first though...one step at a time

Bye bye peanut butter jar...no more almonds! Walnuts will be hidden from me I hope.

I am a sucker for blue diamond flavored almonds and i also eat these gluten free almond crunch bars which are tasty. That sux that it is making you worse, but i hope your new food choices really work out for you. I just stick to protein, protein, and more protein lol. Sounds like you are a good cook to make all those things, i lack in that dept lol. I need to hire a good cook or just go visit my mom for a couple of weeks lol.

Yeah blue diamond always gets me with their advertising. Cooking is really a pain when you have to do it 2-3 times a day. I need more motivation lol. I need protein too...I've been trying to avoid meat but it's inevitable that I have to eat it. I usually just shrug it off and eat eggs, fish, or NUTS sad.gif.

Haha. Ya i cant live without my meats, i especially need em for the protein since i lift at the gym. Hopefully the vegan protein powder i ordered today will help out with that too. I cook breakfast and dinner, but they are very simple things and the foreman grill does most of the work so i cant take to much credit lol.

Do you cook meat for breakfast? I've had to do that a couple times and I feel insane doing it. Oh well it's just a stereotype that you should eat meat for dinner. Well I guess sausage and bacon are considered breakfast meats but still... Eggs are still amazing and amazingly easy to cook. Now that's what I call breakfast.

Cut out the peanut butter for sure. Peanut butter contains toxins which can be realeased into your system:
"Peanuts, you may or may not know, are actually legumes, not nuts, which are grown underground as part of a root system.

It is primarily due to the peanuts' direct contact with the soil that they have become harmful, and even dangerous, to your health.

While actual nuts like almonds and walnuts have strong, hard shells that protect them, the legume known as a peanut has soft and porous skin. When the environment surrounding the peanut becomes warm, humid and wet -- as it does in most regions of the U.S. where peanuts are commonly grown -- a fungal growth occurs.

The fungus itself is not dangerous, but the poison it releases, known as "aflatoxin," is. This cancer-causing agent attacks the liver and is one of the more deadly food-borne toxins in existence."

Also, cheese is a mold, plus it is a dairy product. are you lactose intolerant at all, do you know? But at any rate, dairy products (other than kefir or plain yogurt) are just going to sit in your already compromised intestinal tract.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. What I am doing right now is basically eliminating everything except proteins, fats and veggies. Yes coconut oil, by the way, it is an antifungal.

The more I read about candida the more I am finding out it is very difficult to get rid of, takes an extreme amount of effort and purpose. But, we can do it girlfriend! God gives us strength and wisdom for our bodies, you are already on the right track.

Aha thank you so much hopefully this vivid description of how disgusting peanuts are will help me out. Yeah I guess cheese it out then too. Sometimes when you're soo hungry you'll eat about anything. Lately I've just been grabbing about anything low carb and hoping for the best. Hopefully meal planning will help. I've heard that valencia peanuts aren't as susceptible to mold and arrowhead mills makes a peanut butter by them (so at least I know it's not off limits in the future?!) Unless I really do have a sensitivity to nuts which in that case I would quit for life! I feel like when I've eaten walnuts and pecans there was mold on them too. That's really why nuts should just be generally banned on the candida diet. This is awful.

I really hate the idea of logging what I eat but I'm going to try and log at least some of it to keep me on track.

Breakfast:

Supplements:

2 500mg vitamin C
Centrum performance (I hope this is okay)
coenzyme Q-10

Spinach salad with celery, cucumber, onion, minced garlic, juice of half a lemon, cilantro, sea salt
A couple chunks of salmon spread across it
1 cup Yogurt with cinnamon and ground flax seed
Green tea

Mmmm don't I smell delicious now

Lunch/snack:

Some more cucumber slices, celery, and salmon

Dinner:

Ground beef mixed up with cabbage, onions, garlic, cilantro, sea salt, pepper

Alright my stomach seems to be feeling okay after meals...although I did take a nap about 3 hours after eating (a good way to avoid pain). Stomach pains after eating the beef last night, though. Eating the same things today and probably will be for a long time. Acne isn't bad, couple small whiteheads. Feeling alright and a little motivated to run although I'm still digesting stuff so I will wait. Hmm I feel like I'm going to be talking to myself a lot here.

Haha well hey if its a way to keep better track of what you are doing then talking to yourself isnt bad tongue.gif If you are planning on running i would always try to do it before your dinner. Good luck on the healthy diet kick, hope it works out, i know it takes a lot of prep time and patience for sure. I never liked cooking and not the greatest so i guess it required more patience and prep time for me than the average jo lol.

Yep I am planning on running today before dinner. I used to go (I think I can't even remember) in the early afternoon. It was so hot!! If I end up eating dinner I have to go at like 10:00 haha but it helps because then I run faster when a cars go by. I hate when I get chased by dogs though.
