Thanks for the comment. By the way, your skin looks absolutely flawless (??)!! You are very pretty.
I know it is very hard, especially if you don't eat enough fat, which I am gettin better at (spoonful of coconut oil, anyone?)... The diet isn't that bad if you get in what i call the "zone" where your body craves and wants only the food you are feeding it. This has happened to me like twice though.
It is interesting because over the past few months my skin has gradually gotten worse, like over the past four months. Part of that I think is stress from moving to night shift. When I was following this diet, very well, for like a week, my skin cleared up immensely. Candida is real and it needs to be eradicated, I don't think there is any other way unforunately.
Last night I snapped. I mean, like really buckeled. I was looking at my skin, and the scarring, and the redness, and I just started crying my eyes out. I am f-ing pissed now though. The only way to do this diet, is like Panic told me before, all the way. I was reading thorugh another anti candida blog yesterday and the guy said if you cheat it sets you back like a month. I believe it. Candida is not an easy mofo to deal with.
That being said, I have doubled my resolutions. I have been doing "little" cheats- white rice when with friend s at sushi, "pirates' booty" as a snack. Uhh that's not cutting it. So anyways, here's what I ate today, so far, and what I have planned.
ON a chipper note, I went for a run today and it was the best I've done inlike over a year... maybe it's all the onions I've been eating.
Breakfast: 4 eggs, olive oil, coconut oil, 1 onion, 1 clove garlic (4:00 p.m.)
Snack: Green beans, lightly sauteed in olive oil, 1 small onion, 1/2 zucchini (8:00 pm, 10:00 pm)
Seriously SO full right now, I am not sure why, but I likey...
For lunch or dinner or whenever I get hungry again, Ihave a half pound of salmon to bake/broil with onion and left over zucchini. If I get hungry after that, it's coconut oil and veggies.
Cheers dudes.

I don't think nuts break me out, but they do cause inflammation, which goes hand in hand with candida. Since I binge eat on nuts and replace them for other things I should be eating, I decided to omit them. Almonds should be okay but definetly don't eat peanuts.

Edit: by the way do you eat avocados or coconut? I really feel like starting from square one and just sticking to meat, veggies, and yogurt but I thought avocados were mostly just fat and they definitely don't taste sweet...
What kind of a slip could put you back a month; I giant bag of candy slip or a couple berries? I'm wondering if I messed things up just by eating some berries or some grapefruit. It doesn't seem like candida would need all that much sugar to multiply since they are so tiny but I craved such large amounts back when I wasn't on the diet so was that really the amount they needed or is a couple berries enough? I wish doctors could treat this and take it seriously...this has really screwed up my personality and my face. I never even realized all the tiny bumps that I get on my forehead when i'm not using benza-clin is from the fungus. I stopped using it a couple days ago and I think the bumps are gone though but I definitely still feel candida-ridden.

Hey there
I do not at this point incorporate avocados into my diet... for one thing, I don't like them too much. I have read that they, too, can cause inflammation- not too sure about that. I read that at howtoclearyouracne .com. I have found a lot of really useful information there.
I guess being set back depends on the person. For me, I honestly don't think that fruit would make me break out, at least in small quantities, such as an apple here or there. Would it hinder the progress I am making on my candida die off? Most definetly. If I ate a package of chocolates, or even a candy bar, I would be guaranteed to have a huge breakout of cysts. Haha this is coming from someone, who, just a year ago, was eating King size Twix bars for breakfast... and my acne wasn't even bad last year! It's amazing to me how all of a sudden my acne became extremely severe.
Your breakout may have been from the fruit, I sort of doubt it, but you never know. How severe is your acne? It could have been from something you ate prior to the diet. I can have breakouts up to four days after ingesting a food. If I binge on Saturday, for example, I can expect the worst of it to show up on Tuesday.
I am learning that the best option is to simply steer clear of all suspicious foods, to work hard at killing the little devils, and then reintroduce later. That is my plan of attack right now anyways. Unfortunately I am going to Europe for two weeks very soon. I am hoping that I will be able to adhere to the diet while over there. Judging from my past endevours, you would think not. I have felt almost militant about this over the past few days though, it is just something that has to be done. And the diet's not all that bad, I just had deeelicious broiled salmon with oniion for dinner. Can't complain.
Good luck, keep me updated

I don't think the fruit has bothered me as much as the nuts were...lol but I definitely won't eat anymore of it. It's best to be safe rather than sorry and since I'm not showing much progress with my symptoms I better not include anything with sugar just yet. Yeah I used to do the same exact thing with eating junk for breakfast...and all the time! For me it was the candida since I've had it so long without knowing. I don't know how long you had it but many mornings I could just wake up and eat a couple slices of cake or a bowl of ice cream. My acne became severe before I went on the strong antibiotics that caused my candida outbreak but I was on antibiotics previously so I might have already had some candida problems before! I didn't have severe acne until I went on antibiotics...hmm. My acne isn't all that bad. I've just been getting small spots all around, no more of those fungus bumps just normal acne. The bumps are hardly painful just annoying. I've had some whiteheads but hardly anything inflamed or under the skin. It's surprising considering how many little buggers I'd have on my cheeks a year + ago. I think the initial die off of the candida and quitting antibiotics already brought my system closer to harmony which stopped my worst acne from coming back.
You can probably follow the diet in Europe. I know the hardest part though is when you're feeling tired and you realize you're really hungry and you need food. At that point anything accessible might look okay. Hopefully it won't be hard though because Europe probably has some decent food and not everything is processed (I would think). All the restaurants probably serve a chunk of chicken or salmon. Just eat A LOT when you go out to save yourself from hunger later.

So we are on this diet... but what are we going to do if we go on a road trip, a long flight, on vacation with the family... all these things that life brings... how are we supposed to stick to the diet when we have to eat what other people are eating? I dont know about you but I'd feel pretty uncomfortable asking my boyfriend's parents to only cook candida friendly meals. I'm supposed to be going on a trip to BC with my boyfriend and his family including his aunts and cousins and we are all staying in one condo... and will obviously be eating together... It's actually stressing me out SOO much thinking about it, I dont want to miss out but I also dont want to screw up on this diet, what do I do?? I'm tellin ya I cant live my whole life like this, there is going to have to be compromise at some point guys.
Anyway how's the diet goin? Haha... yeah I think we all break down at some point on this diet. I'm sorry

Ah I see you are having anxiety........gosh I hate candida. Anyway I've read stuff about this before. I think you have to consider what is more important...your health or pleasing your in-laws? If they can't understand your condition (notify beforehand) then maybe you shouldn't be going. If candida causes you a lot of trouble then why would you want it to come back and be miserable on the trip anyway.
Of course, in a perfect world, one would always have time for a nice, home cooked meal with plenty of fresh ingredients and whole foods. But reality is that fast food restaurants come in very handy on days when you are on the go or simply don’t have the time, energy or desire to slave in the kitchen.
Fast food restaurants often get a bad rap, but just like the grocery store, most of these restaurants offer both healthy and less-than-healthy options. It is the individual’s responsibility to make the right choices, and there are plenty of meal possibilities to keep the candida dieter on track.
The best game plan when considering a fast food meal is to decide which restaurant provides the healthiest candida fast food options . Pulling up menus online is a simple way to check out menu and nutritional information, and nearly all fast food places have a home on the Web in order to provide such information to consumers.
Compare menu items and ingredients and determine which restaurants offer items like salads, low-sugar salad dressings, un-breaded sandwiches, and good protein sources. Even a burger can be candida diet-friendly when the bun is removed. Just ask for extra lettuce and use the leaves as the covering for the meat. You can enjoy the burger without the candida-increasing starches found in the white, processed bun.
When choosing salads, remember to ask for grilled meat. The crispy-coated or breaded meat can be detrimental to the candida condition. Also, go for low-sugar dressings such as ranch or blue cheese. Sweet dressings like French, thousand island and even many types of vinaigrette are often packed with sugar.
Although many people assume a salad is automatically healthy just because it is a salad, the truth is that common salad toppings such as sugary dressings, croutons and breaded meat can make the salad just as much as a candida trigger as a burger, fries, and an ice cream shake.
Once you get the hang of the kinds of foods that work on the candida diet, eating out becomes easier. Candida diet staples include vegetables, protein, low-sugar fruit and some dairy. If you can find these items on the menu and avoid carb and sugar-laden foods, you will be able to enjoy your fast food meal while keeping your body as healthy as possible.
For on the go...I actually have noticed it wouldn't be hard at all to keep to the diet and eat fast food. Most places center around meat anyway... Chipotle is a good choice if you live by one at least in my opinion. A lot of their items are iffy though on the diet but they have good meat, lettuce, peppers/onions, guac, and some tomato salsa if you can handle it.
Man my stomach is crying right now. I feel like I'm sensitive to all foods. Wouldn't that suck if I couldn't break down meat protein and I had candida?? hmmm

Wow, you must be an excellent cook! That sounds sooo good! Yeah the thing is you can make a lot of really great meals on this diet, because meat is usually the main course of most meals, and veggies are always included also. I am sooo glad we can eat herbs and spices! Without them I would have stopped eating scrambled eggs a long time ago.
Yesterday I wrapped a piece of salmon in tin foil and added onions and squash. Unfortunately I was at work and did not have any spices. But salmon is something I do a lot.
Thanks for the info on the fast food too, that can be really hard. I am realizing that nuts are the only option sometimes. Today I was at the grocery store picking up stuff for my dinner but I was starving. In stead of buying a bag of popcorn or baked sweet potatos like I usually I do, I bought almonds instead. I am trying to eliminate them but it was my best option considering I get very shakey when that hungry. Not sure why that happened.

For both of you, I am not sure how severe your acne is right now, but I would urge you to stick to this and to do some deep cleansing as a word of warning. I am going through HELL right now and in retrospect if I would have done something about the acne when it was mild, I wouldn't have to be dealing with horrible skin and scarring righ tnow. I will post pictures sometime, but my pics are sort of devestating right now so I've been hestistant.
The diet is going great for me the past few days. Except for the almonds, which I consider kind of neutral, almost an emergency food. I ate a lot of them though so hopefully that's ok.
The other things I have eaten today are:
1 serving tukey breast
1 cup kefir
4 eggs with cilantro
A lot of almonds
I need more veggies today. I ate so many yesterday.
I had a phone conference with my naturopath today and I basically spent half the time crying. Fortunately he is really sweet. I don't even nkonw if he is charging me for it.
Basically he think that I do not have hydrochloric acid in the right amounts in my intestines, which is causing two things. 1. Candida to go out of control and 2. For me to have infrequent and stubborn bowel movements.
--This is a weird question, but if you don't mind sharing, are you two ladies having regular BM's?
Cuz I sure as hell ain't and it's driving me cra---zy.
Anyways he wants me to start taking yellow dock for the bowel movements, hydrochloric acid, 5HTP for digestion, and start spraying colloidal silver on my face to help with the infection. So, I am taking (again) about 9 million supplements. It's hard to keep track of them all.
The doc said that the lack of the hydrochloric acid (I think it's hydrochloric, I better check in a little bit) could be causing most of my issues and could be a key factor.
One thing he also told me is that I have way too much stress. I am not allowed to research for a while, or to obsess. In a way, it's a relief cuz I think I spend about twenty hours a week reading about this crap. So, I will just be updating, but, for a while, not helping out with the research as much-- if I can control myself.
Reason being is that focusing on the problem just reiterates the negatiave energy around the problem, can lead to more stress, and more acne. It's a visous cycle.
Ok my friends, thanks so much for the recent posts, they are very encouraging/helpful. Hang IN. Don't let the candida or acne win, and try to live free.

Hey There
Realize that if you stick to this diet and get the candida back in normal proportions to the other bacteria in your intestines, you WON'T have to live your entire life like this. A healthy person's body can handle eating an ice cream cone once a week or going for a burger a few times a month. We are not healthy, but we are healing. This is a short time of your life, when you look at the whole spectrum. I admire you for taking your steps to healing so early, believe me you will be better for it in the long run!
One thing my naturopath told me today is to pick the least offensive option, and then to relax. Don't order pancakes with syrup when out to breakfast, get eggs over easy and sausage and tea. With so many diet issues lately, there is always a way out. Haha hopefully while in Germany I can just interpert it!

Yeah I use q-10. I use a store brand I hope that doesn't make a difference? They don't make me feel better when I use them. I always get the same stomach cramping and bloating and everything. Sometimes maybe I don't pay attention as much but I'm pretty sure I get it every time I eat. The problem is I like to snack and if I do that I have an upset stomach all day. Even if I don't snack the meals take FOREVER to digest. I usually get horrible pains in my intestines like 2-3 hours after eating if not sooner. This is even with smaller portions...

I don't know if I said that but it might have been me. Candida might have caused me cystic acne in the past but for the past year or so I've just had those little fungus bumps all over my forehead. They all went away when I was using benza-clin though but if I ever went off of it they all came back. I never had that kind of acne before (of course it wasn't acne though) so it confused me but I just piled on products as usual...masking the cause. All those bumps came back and got out of control when I went on birth control in addition to the antibiotics I was already on. I got very emotional, gained weight, sugar binged, the whole package. All through this, and the whole time I was on the antibiotics I had stomach aches, indigestion, irregularity. I got diarrhea a month or so after starting the antibiotics and didn't even notice that they were causing it. When I went to the doctor he said it wasn't a big deal and it will go away and it didn't but it got less severe. It fluctuated from moderate to tolerable for a year + before birth control. I knew something was wrong when I was on birth control and antibiotics so I started researching and found this site...saw stuff about candida and stopped taking all my meds. I had some of the fungal bumps all over my face for a couple days and used apple cider vinegar + tea tree oil to clean them up. I was on the candida diet and my face cleared up for like a week. I'm not breaking out much because I assumed I got rid of a lot of my candida but I don't know because my digestive system is nowhere near better. My thrush went away with oregano oil + sleeping with garlic in my mouth. I had other yeast infections on my body over the year but I dismissed them. Had fungus toenails...thought it was from running in the rain at cross country. Had sugar binges...thought it was typical since I was living like this for so long I was getting used to it!?!? I don't know I still feel like I have something else wrong in addition to candida. I was at the doctor and she tested me for celiacs and all kinda of stuff but all negative (I think). I guess I'm just waiting this out & going to buy those enzymes that break down candida (even though I know it is more than just in my digestive system). I am about 90% sure I have leaky gut so probiotics & my yogurt might not even be helping! Maybe fiber irritates my digestive system. Maybe I have developed crohns in addition to candida. I will keep trying at this for hope of feeling better and not having to loaf for 4 hours after a meal because I have so much pain.
Are you having constipation? I hear that's the norm on this diet. I either get that or the exact opposite. Nothing is ever normal.
I use colloidal silver too is it safe?
Yes I also have too much stress but I've cut back on that. I don't stress out about meaningless stuff anymore but I also don't have a job or anything. I used to stress wayyyy too much about my acne though and it only made it worse. I'd scream and cry about it and then just stress about everything else to ignore it. Yep.

I am not sure if colloidal silver is safe. I read up on it a little and it seems that it could cause discoloration of the skin. Some reviews said it worked well topically and other reviews said it did not. I am very very leary of using anything that may even suggest harming my skin further... I went to an esthitician who gave me HORRIBLE scarring. I like to use things that I know are tried and true. So, I have decided not to use the silver until I ask my naturopath more about it. Better safe than sorry.
Do you use Apple Cider Vinegar topically, by the way? I have been using it, and it's one thing that really has helped fade red marks and it heals active acne fast without scarring.
I have to be careful what kind of oils I use on my face too. Tea Tree oil breaks me out oddly enough, and I just figured out that Vit E has been breaking me out lately. Bio-oil for healing scars also breaks me out. Oils that are closer to the sebum in the skin don't break me out: jojoba, coconut, and olive. They feel nice on the skin also.
Anyways whoops it looks like you do use ACV. Wow, it sounds like the antibiotics really messed your body up bad.
Yes, I am having constipation. And it is very very bad because when the candida is dying off, you want to make sure to expidite them out of the sytem as quickly as possible. I have had stubborn movements. Sometimes I feel like I would do anything for diarrhea lol. That sounds weird, but I hate the plugged up feeling and I want to be normal!!
I wonder why you are getting such pains in your tum. Have you gone to a naturopath at all?
