Hi All,

At the moment I am using clinique beauty bar & boots botanics skin calming moisturiser (spf 15) with my benzoyl peroxide, this prevents flakes although my face is very red at times.

Anyway, we are heading for summer in the UK and currently seem to be experiencing some very hot days - my skin is very fair and burns extremely easily, so I need a moisturiser with high spf that won't irritate my sensitive and acne prone skin.
I am keen to protect my skin from premature ageing as well as just immediate sun damage.

I would rather use a moisturiser with spf than a seperate sun cream as I have had bad experiences with this before.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Saz

I REALLY struggling to find a decent non-comogenic moisturiser with anything above spf 15 - spf 15 is my winter level of protection, I need something much higher in summer as my skin is very fair.
I am in my early 20's however in order to prevent skin damage and premature aging SPF 15+ should be worn every day - this is the only concrete thing that has been identified about preventing skin aging - as well as good cleansing and moisturisation.
My skin may be terrible at the moment but I am hoping it will clear up one day - when this happens I don't want to be then be faced by loads of wrinkles!!

All the top brand skincare ranges (e.g. clinique etc) have high spf - however I don't want to spend £30 on a moisturiser only to find it doesn't suit my skin.
I have previously used (and spent a lot of money on) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion which I found to be the best moisturiser I've ever used - but it doesn't contain SPF.

The only one I have found so far is Cetaphil UVA/UVB Defense Facial Moisturiser with SPF 50 - which would have to be imported. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks

Just an update on the Cetpahil sunscreen, from drugstore.com the international shipping is over £20!
Back to the drawing board...

Its very difficult to find a non-comogenic moisturiser with >spf15 in the uk - in fact I have never seen one on the shelf. The only two I am aware of, that you have to import, are the Cetaphil one you mentioned and Eucerin Everyday Protection Face Lotion, SPF 30. I am going to try the Eucerin one in a few weeks so I'll post back on how good it is. I use a Eucerin SPF15 one in my signature at the moment.

I have just purchased -

RoC Minesol - Anti Shine Fluid Cream 50ml SPF30

from directcosmetics.com, along with some factor 50 roc minesol sunscreen.

these both have an rrp of £15 and were 5.95 each.

I am going to try using this instead of moisturiser (perhaps with some jojoba oil added) will post how it goes.

I also found that lloyds pharmacy are now selling Cetaphil:

Boots No 7 do a non-comogenic moisturiser sunscreen spf 15. I recall using it in Magaluf (whilst using benzoyl peroxide in the evening - probably not the best idea when your in such strong sun) but it was ok - as I couldnt put normal thick greasy sun screen on my face the state it was in.

I wouldnt recommend it for baking in 30degree climates but if its for general wear e.g. on a UK summers day then it is great.

This thread actually reminded me of it as I havent used it in ages...may go & buy some more now!
